In my high school parking lot...in a student parking spot...with a student permit/sticker....
I've heard its a non-gearhead girl that drives it. Makes me all *squints eyes and shakes head in disapproval*
But on the other side of things, I think the new Mustang's looks are growing on me. But I still think it doesn't look like a muscle car, just that I think I'm starting to think it looks nice otherwise.

Ah, the perpetual love affair between high school/college girls and six-cylinder Mustangs

Surprised? 70% of Mustangs are driven by women. And 40% of that are teenage girls. OK I'm pulling those numbers out of my ass. But we all know its true.
On the same note the 5th gen Camaro has suffered the same fate.

It's not a convertible, nor is it Yellow, so she's not quite lost yet.

You mean red. Rich girls don't drive yellow cars.

Meh. Who cares. The Mustang has always been a bit of a poser car in lower trims.
Most of the enthusiast cars I see in my area that are available in auto are driven by women. I see plenty of S4s, Mustangs, and Camaros driven by girls.
The cars that seem to be excluded from poser status are WRX or STI, MS3, GTI, or GT-R. Mostly because those cars are not flashy or particularly sexy.

if the car was 15 years old or newer, I'd considered fancy back in high school. 2015 Mustang?.....lucky kid

IMO it looks almost the same. Take away the visual front "bumper" because thats stupid anyways, pull the top of the headlight back, connect the glass for the DLO shape and get rid of the upkink on the body side. Baam. 2015 stang.

Eh, that doesn't bug me in the least honestly. People buy their kids cars all the time. When I was in high school cough:20yearsago:cough there was a girl who had a 5.0 Fox body Mustang. She totaled it, so her parents bought her another one. She totaled that one too. So they bought her an Explorer. I assume the hope was that she wouldn't be as dumb or it's built to take more abuse. Nevermind the fact that she probably ended up rolling the Explorer.

There was a girl like that when I was in high school. Her grandfather bought her a brand new pea-soup green v6, but she didn't like driving it. Instead she had her grandfather drive her to school in it.

Come to Michigan, you'll see women driving all the enthusiast cars.

My high school has Range Rovers, tons on Mercedes MLs, a CLA45 AMG, an A3, and of course all kinds of other beige cars.

When I was in high school 16 years ago and got a 3 year old 95 Cobra for my senior year/graduation gift. I was not from a rich school so everyone thought I was a rich kid LOL.

I can definitely see the similarities particularly the greenhouse and that hard character line running down the side. The Mustang is much more beefy/muscular though. Both great looking cars in their own rights.

The handful of people I went to high school with who had new cars seemed to get nothing out of it besides some lighthearted teasing about their parents' impropriety. I guess I'll never understand why someone in high school (or their parents) would think that's a good idea.

Amen. My Celica was fancy, mostly because it was still bright red. Lots of beater Toyotas and Hondas, a few '90s lifted brotrucks for the rednecks, three Volkswagen Rabbit convertibles, and the pride of the place was a guy with a RX-7... until he put it in the ditch right outside the school

All sound correct to me. Our pride was a 300ZX with SC430 wheels and a dude had a 2 year old Ford Expedition (base).
