"Logansteno: Bought a VW?" (logansteno)

I'm patiently awaiting Motor Trend's decision for Truck of the Year. I think it's either going to be the new F-150 or Colorado.
I'm hoping it's the Colorado, since it won its comparison against the Taco and Frontier, while the F-150 got second place to the Ram 1500.
Who knows, something like the Sierra 2500 Denali or Ford F-450 Platinum could come out of nowhere and take it, though I doubt it.

Doesn't this come out in like February? The Ram 3500 would have a chance. Since it actually holds the class in towing, because the F-450 is in fact a class above it. And it has a common upgrade as an option that is the air suspension. I could see the Ford winning as well, but most reviews on it say the interior just feels aged. And apparently that is a big deal. I just don't see how the Sierra could win. It isn't necessarily a bad truck, but ride quality isn't everything in a HD truck. The Duramax/Allison combo hasn't been updated since 2011, and that is kind of lacking compared to the Cummins and Powerstroke. The Torqueshift has been proven time and time again as vastly superior to the Allison. Aisin is also known for their transmission quality, so we'll see how that improves Chrysler's trans image. It's like GM just stop trying with this last generation. Or all of their R&D went into the C7, like it seems with Nissan and the GTR.

It'll probably the the Chevy, as it seems that ALL of MotorTrend's staff and writers are GM fanboys

The Colorado looks so good (and that comes from someone who doesn't like trucks), incredibly better than the one we get here.

That'd be almost as bad as the CR-V winning SUV of the year.

They keep saying "soon" in all their articles about trucks eligible. And they're doing full reviews of the eligible trucks already.
Did the Ram 3500 get updated this year? Because it has to have something new about it to be eligible. The addition of the EcoDiesel is how the Ram won two years in a row.
I have a feeling GM will update the Diesel halfway through the lifecycle like they did the old truck. I think I remember reading they're already working on it actually.

Ooor the Colorado is actually a superior truck? What a concept.
Them being GM fanboys is exactly why the Silverado got last in the full-size comparison, and how the new SUVs lost to a fucking CR-V. I'd call them Japanese fanboys before anything.

Well, I do believe the Heavy Duty package in itself is new since last time. Then there is always the Power Wagon. Last years TOTY was released in February, for reference.

Saw my first Colorado in the wild today. Grey extended cab. Looked good.

The Ecodiesel, Silverado, '15 F-150 article made me laugh. The Outdoorsman isn't even close to the top of the line model. It's more like mid range. And similarly priced? Ha.

I've actually seen a few already, all red crew cab Z71s. Though I see truckloads of them all the time since they're coming from the Wentzville plant and take the highway I travel a lot.

Not to mention the F-150 they had was an extended cab with the 2.7T. That whole comparison was skewed.

And it still probably cost as much as the Ram and Silverado.

Probably. The prices on this new F-150 are ridiculous . I'd say that might scare some people toward GM or Ram, but with the F-150 being the Camry of full-size trucks, I doubt it.

Well, Ram has actually been stealing customers from both, so this might actually help them a bit.

I've seen a few at dealers, also red crew cabs, but this was my first in the wild, and also the first extended cab I've seen.

i think this is exciting for the colorado concept — the internet wanted this and we got it. the thing has a diesel stick, for chrissake. now if only ford would have the cajones to put the ranger back out. ...or the bRONCO!
