What is your most ghetto-fabulous modification? GM designed the LS6 oil pump spring the exact diameter as a dime ($0.10), so I used a ten-cent piece to raise my oil pressure. Oppos sound off to cheap ingenuity.

10¢, ha. The bracket to hold in my TSS broke. I had some packing tape, it's been taped up for months now. So basically, the only reason my trans shifts, is being held in by packing tape.

Hit a deer. Broke the headlight. Broke the header panel the headlight mounts to.

On a previous car I owned: couldn't ever find air filters for it. No one carried them. The one in the car tore so I took panty hose and put it over the flexible hose leading to the intake from the air box.

That is functional and frugal. Nicely done sir!

It wasn't *that* functional. It shined high and to the right. It was enough to keep the cops off my ass though.

I accidentally dropped bolt down the distributor hole on my car in high school. Found a big magnet, dragged it around the pan until I could hear the bolt following it on the other side, and left it there. 8 years later, the magnet and bolt are still there.

Also good for picking up metal shavings in the oiling system.

I went off road and cracked the lower plastic tank on the radiator, managed to get a tow home and was able to weld it back up using a heat gun and cable ties for the filler as they had the same plastic recipe(PA66 +GF30) i didn't have much hope but weeks later and it's not leaking!

I broke the little plastic tab on my alarm remote, so I made a loop out of fishing line, hooked it through the screw boss that goes the entire length, and made a small notch on the side to feed the line through.

That's why I love Chevy. They actually think about owners who mod and accommodate when they can

I did a similar mod to my autocross Yugo, blocking off the coolant passage to the intake manifold using pennies. Hey, cheaper than nickels.
