"Jonathan Harper" (jbh)

So I put together a little "quadcopter reel" to show a bit of what I've done. It's just a collection of aerial clips, in hopes of getting some work from real estate companies shooting mansions from the sky, and possibly even doing flying interior video tours.
Feedback welcome, keep in mind I'm using a first generation DJI Phantom and a GoPro Hero3 black, since I lost my 3+ black off the back of a CTS V-Sport :/

"Guy that flies drones for a living" seems perfect for you. Some good clips here for sure.

You can get some really cool shots from a drone. The shot flying backwards through the stone arch made me smile. The shots in the neighborhood climbing more or less straight up through the trees are pretty cool too.
There were a few shots where the camera was just catching the rotors which distracts a little from the shot. I also find it to be a little bit distracting when you can see the drone shadow like in the winter time shot of the car. Outside of those couple little things those are some good shots and smooth flying.

Thanks! Yeah I do my best to crop that stuff out, but the quality goes to shit as you crop in on my GoPro 3 black. I need the new GoPro methinks.

Congrats! Be careful...and remember you are not there to drive cars. Though you will likely get to drive them on occasion, it's really important to remember why you're there; to help out with anything/everything.
I saw more than one intern come and go in short order during my time there.

Or maybe a slight downward tweak on the camera mount? I haven't dealt with drones, GoPro's or mounts, so I don't know how easy that may or may not be.

It's pretty easy but given the ultra wide angle of the gopro lens can give cars a distorted shape.

So when you're flying, you have no idea what the shot is going to look like, right?

At this point yes. I'll be upgrading to an FPV system soon, but I have a general idea what it's going to capture since I'm standing within visual range of where I'm flying.

Right, I meant more the exact framing and overall quality. Impressive! Was hoping for a powerslide from Aaron at the end though.
