My wife would like a new camera for Christmas so I'm looking for a good point and shoot. She's rough on equipment and every other year or so destroys a camera. The last one got sand in the lens mechanism.

I'm looking for something that will take decent pictures in the most conditions with the least amount of messing around with settings which she is unwilling to do.

I've got a budget of $300.

If someone could share this with photography that would be great.

I'm leaning towards the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS25 since it will be harder for her to destroy.

I can't say I'm brushed up on point and shoots, but whatever camera you end up getting her, see if you can find a case for it. Maybe you can find an Otterbox type case or something.

Yeah. It looks like the best compact point and shoot available for < $300.
