The Science Channel is doing a marathon today and the "commercial myths" episode from this past season (bungee jump bobbing for apples & tennis on the wing of a plane) is on. I'm noticing something looks off about it (and some of the other 2014 episodes) like the frame rate is wrong or something. Did anyone else notice this, or is it me?

I don't know if this is the case, because I am not in the US to see it on the chanel, but I know for sure that some times your TV stations speed up shows in order to get a certain timeframe. BBC US does that with things like Doctor Who which is an 60 +/- 1-2 min. show. They don't have ads in the UK, but have in the US, so in order to still be a 1 h show, they will speed it up a little in order to cramps ads. I am not sure if this is the case here, but it can be. In order to show as much episodes as needed over a given time period, they will mess with the FPS.

I thought about that, but it's only certain newer episodes, and the audio track is fine. It's almost like they were filmed in PAL, then badly converted to ATSC.
