CSI: Miami. Episode-"Flight Risk" (2009). This fantastic gem is on A&E right now and is such complete Bullshit (I can't even censor myself i hate these writers so much) Whoever wrote it is why the stereotype of how air crews are exists. It's like writing a TV show about inner cities and in it portraying every racial stereotype as true and making it worse just for viewers to enjoy. If you don't know, invent. Aircrews all drink and hook up and have planes with huge cavernous lounges just for crew and computer servers and crawlspaces and apparently never get random alcohol tested. Another total Bullshit airline scene? Anything involving Denzel and an airplane, or Kurt Russell and an airplane, or.....jesus christ CSI is bullshit. Bullshit i say! F that show. (Also in this episode, Caruso is particularly full of terrible bullshit puns. If a cop-ish show is ever made using proper procedure it would probably be utterly boring.)

As someone who is studying criminology, I'm with you: fuck CSI.

Damn straight! I worked with a guy whose wife was on a CSI team. Said they like watching the shows mostly for the comedy of how each person on TV is doing about 8 people worth of work. Nobody does lab work AND witness questioning AND detective work AND initial response AND arresting...etc. CSI might be okay depending on what franchise it is, but the Miami version is absolutely wretch-worthy.
I hope the criminology works out man. Being 40+, I advise taking all kinds of notes in a journal. There could be quite a bit of story material for later in life about the people met and things worked on in that field of work.

You have to admit the opening scene to Flight, in the hotel room with Ruxin's wife from the league... was pretty good.

Or someone in the military. TV/movie writers pretty much get every profession horribly wrong.

Not every show can be as awesome as Miami Vice.

Oh yeah. Us pilots do blow off flight attendant asses every morning. LOL
Honestly, let's play out this role and put in position the ability to even do such a thing legally. If blow was being done off of asses, I wold absolutely, still, be terrified about the notion given the people my company hires and the asses they posses. Quite a bit of blow could be done off of that real estate by quite a few people if you know what I mean. heh.

I haven't seen the show in question, but as an A&P mechanic, an awful lot of movie and TV airplane stuff makes me facepalm.
Although my biggest pet peeve is every single airplane making a radial engine noise at some point.

i agree. Quite good visuals. IF such things really happened, I would hope they would be that appealing in real life.

Kurt Russell is fantastic. He's actually a pilot with some good equipment. Someone I work with bumped in to him in Florida at a small airport. He landed and was eating a PB&J at a picnic table. Really cool guy. Hangin out and then jumped in a TBM plane and took off.
With that said, the rest of the movie around him? Ridiculous.

But John Leguizamo's part is entertainingly ridiculous... and it's a movie where Steven Seagal dies before he can weigh it down! It's perfect!
