Saw a beauty just like this one in northwest DC. It came up on my right and then stopped beside me at a light. I was talking to someone on the iPhone and apparently the aforementioned iPhone did not want to take a pic while I was chatting. I came close to "accidentally" hanging up, but then it turned right. Diplomatic plates (obviously), this was near embassy row, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! there not too long ago.

unreal. I love seeing diplomats with crazy cars. There was a Lancia Thesis for sale around there for a while only to the diplo community. Was cheap too since it was for sale a long time with no action

Every day while going to work I see a gorgeous red 159 estate. They look even better in person than in pictures. It lloks just like this one :

What's the deal with those? They get to bring them in and sometimes they get sold? How can non-dips tag and title them? Or can we?

Quite a rare sight too. Especially in red.
I'd love to be able to find a Q4 with the V6 engine (which is an Holden engine modified by Alfa), but it seems to be damn near impossible here in France.

they can only get sold to other dip related entities. I am really not sure how it happens. Since you can pretty much get away with murder while on diplomatic business I dont see why you cant slap plates from your embassy on your whip

Love these. Also, there was a Lancia Thesis for sale on the DC CL a little while back. Diplomat car, only salable to another embassy or for export. Yes, it was a 5-speed.

Wow that's an odd duck. I think I remember seeing that posted on Oppo though! Funny that they have this little community in the states that they can sell too.

The 1.75TBi is actually meant to be almost as quick in day-to-day driving, and ~110kg lighter too.

I've seen a Dacia Sandero, Pegeot 40-Something and a VW Golf Plus in DC. All belonging to diplomats.

A Dacia Sandero? That's great news! Sorry, couldn't resist a Top Gear reference.
