Roadkill Style and I already crossed some things off.
She has a tiny power steering leak so I got some Fluid and a funnel, this power steering fluid:

I also got sandbags to put over the rear wheels.

Certainly a smaller list than I'd expect for a 1993 truck.

I know, I went through the maintenance records today. The original owner saved everything, I have a recalled part replacement sheet from September 1993. The guy even saved the return receipt from when He bought and exchanged a faulty oil filter in 2005. I have documentation to when he went from 10W30 to 5W30 oil. This thing was taken care of way beyond the call of duty.

This is the kind of well taken care of car I hope to find when I eventually replace the Shitfari. I almost had an E30 with those kind of records, but it slipped through my fingers at the last second.

I'll have to make a post going through all the records, Its kinda fascinating. I feel like this has been my car all my life, even though I was born the same month it was manufactured in the same year. I essentially share a birthday with it. I even know that one of the tech guys at the alignment shop in 2007 couldnt believe it only had 48k miles, because it has a 5 digit odometer, he assumed by the age that it was 148k. But that is the only discrepency in the paperwork, so I dont think its correct.

What kind of man buys a Ford and doesn't use Motorcraft power steering fluid?
*EDIT* Ignore me. I could've sworn they made PS fluid... they don't.

Yeah, I looked after I made the comment and found that Ford doesn't make their own power steering fluid. I thought my dad had some. Maybe it's the same stuff you bought.
She does look like a nice little truck you've got.

That's not bad. Not a ton that needs to be done. Actually, that's great for a truck from 1993. What a good find. I need to do quite a bit more expensive/time consuming things. My list is pretty long... It's going to feel good when you start checking off stuff.

Know anyone who has experience with stuff like that? It might help you a lot. There's always going to be challenges though. Even the easiest stuff will throw a twist. Taking out my fog light assembly should've been easy, but it was far from it! Good luck.

That's a good start. If you do some searching, you should find stuff to help you out online. Or even here is a great place. Oppo has helped me with many things.

mine has a sharpie'd sticker under the hood with the mileage for the timing belt replaced. Too bad the gears for the odometer are fucked

I always used 4 sandbags (240 lbs) and it worked well. Only caused about a 1-2 mpg drop when I had them in the back.

Crawl under there and look at the brake lines. If they're OE chances are they're rusted to shit. My Ranger is an '03 and I replaced them all this summer. A totally un-sexy, pain in the ass job that could save your life.
Also pop the drums off and see how rusty the springs are. I've had those rust out on me, too.

The brakes were just serviced weeks before I bought it. I have maintenance records going back 20 years. Also, I have no structural rust
