The Ford Edge: It's alright

I'm home for the holiday and my parents went out. Unfortunately they took the Audi, so I was left with my dad's Ford Edge, pictured poorly below

I took it out to send a package. Some impressions here

Exterior: It's alright. It's a pretty big car. Can't say I love the styling, can't say I hate it

Interior: It's alright. Pretty comfortable, the styling is nice. Soft touch most places. Wood looks decent, but kind of lazy. It does have a panoramic sunroof, which is nice

Very roomy too, with lots of space if you need it

Acceleration: It's alright. It has some form of V6. Low end torque is lacking, zero to 60 feels like it takes between 7 and 8 seconds at best. Honestly my Sonic feels faster, but they're probably relatively close to each other.

Handling: It's alright. At low speed relaxed driving it gets the job done. There's no steering feel at all. It's what I imagine turning the wheel on an old ship must be like. It turns, but you can only tell by the way the nose points eventually

Gearbox: It's alright. For cruising it does fine, but it's slow if you attempt to get on it. It takes it a second to realize it needs to shift. It makes me glad I have a manual. It's got a manual mode, but don't use it if you want to maintain your sanity.

Ride: It's alright

Audio: It's alright. Engine sound is mediocre, stereo is pretty decent. Not as good as the B&O in my moms Audi.

Toys: They're alright. I like the auto lift gate, the seat fold buttons in the rear. Push button start is awesome. I hate sync. It's too busy and the touchscreen isn't responsive enough. Ford needs to simplify the screens, they are crowded and distracting

Overall: It's alright

How are the brakes? I know the old Edge had quite possibly the worst brakes in existence. Edmunds stopped from 60-0 in the old Edge in over 150ft, which is absolutely terrible - especially for a midsize crossover.

My sister has a 2013 Edge. This jusst about sums it up. It's alright. It's the beige but on the better side of meh.
