Kinja'd!!!

I just watched a comparison video of the RC-F and the M4, and made me think: "If only we could have the Lexus's engine in the M4's body and chassis...." Which lead to me thinking, if we could build a car using only parts from existing 2014-model new cars (and assume there's no compatibility issues!) what would we make?

Engine:
Transmission:
Body (Exterior Chassis):
Chassis (Interior Chassis):
Suspension and tires:
Interior:

Here's 1 constraint though: The price is a composite of the parts you choose. So to get your price, you have to average the cost of the cars you choose to take parts from. For example, here's mine:

Engine: Ford Focus ST ($24,000)

Transmission: Scion FR-S ($24,900)

Body (Exterior Chassis): BMW 2-series ($32,100)

Chassis (Interior Chassis): Scion FR-S ($24,900)

Suspension and tires: BMW M135i ($43,100)

Interior: Mazda Miata ND ($23,970)

Final price: $28,820

A Hellcat engine in a Fiat, obviously. I'd make it fit somehow. I'm too lazy to figure out price, but we all know it doesn't matter. Especially since I'll be dead in a fiery wreck before it's paid off.

Awesome choice. I forgot how cheap the 200 was. I'd definitely take this over any current 25k car!

Makes me wonder just how cheap they could get some of those performance cars if they just stopped caring about interior.

Corvette LT4 in a Buick Lacrosse, Buick Lacrosse interior, corvette manual transmission, suspension from the Corvette Zl1.

I win.

GM no longer builds NA engines I'd put in a supercar. Aluminium block, reasonably high tech, more torque than a possessed freight train, very reliable. Nothing to complain about it.

Also, it makes a helluva exhaust noise.

Engine: Ferrari LaFerrari (only the V12) (I thoroughly considered the 4.6L V8 from the 918 but a 789 bhp V12 was too enticing) ($1,700,000)

Transmission: Porsche 918 ($845,000)

Body (Exterior Chassis): McLaren P1 ($1,150,000)

Chassis (Interior Chassis): McLaren P1 ($1,150,000)

Those'd be impossible to sell nowadays, unless as non-street-legal turn-key racers which would have little market anyway.

Dead sure. The 454R was developed for drag racing uses. LSx derived or no, I wouldn't trust a motorsports engine for a car which, supercar or not, is still quite meant to be a road car all and all.

Nothing a Vacuum pump and running E85 cant fix. More road cars need a crappy idle.

Well, in those they stopped caring about safety as well.

You'd end up with a Camaro V6 engine, mind you, the SS is more expensive.

Someone else's comment used the Chrysler 200 interior, which starts at like, $21,000. That would certainly drop the price.
