I'm ok with Xmas songs in the month of December. The holidays are coming, festive spirit of giving, blah blah blah I never got any cool toys or hugs as a child, bah humbug.
I'm not ok with Xmas ANYTHING in November or earlier. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, focused mainly on gluttony and getting together with family / friends. Let it exist on its own, rather than ruining it by starting the Xmas brew-ha-ha before Thanksgiving comes.

Good Christmas music is a wonderful thing. Take "Charlie Browns Christmas" for example. The jazz soundtrack to that is killer. It's so good my friend wrote about it for NPR. Gary Hoey's holiday albums are guitar shred fests.
James Brown has some nice stuff as well. The schlock they are piping into the malls and most retail stores is enough to make a brother poke holes in his ear drums, I feel you there.

The only Christmas song I approve of.
