This is the Mazda CX3. You've already seen it, and it looks like a Porsche Cayenne in miniature.
This is a 'new model' for the brand's next little SUV/hatchback/crossover thing. It's a bit bigger than a Kia Soul, a car that I can't really categorize either.
The reason you're supposed to see this Mazda is because it's at the Los Angeles auto show, which is totally underway.
The CX3, as !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! points out, is just Mazda's dumb way to pander to people who actually buy cars so they can keep building cars for people who don't buy cars.
Expect your usual four-cylinder engines, optional AWD, as well as manual and auto transmissions.
Whether or not anyone who actually spends money on cars will give a shit about this car is unknown at the moment. Why it looks just like the ugliest SUV of recent memory is also difficult to fathom.

It's a CUV apparently, whatever that means. Like, who comes up with these terms anyway?

Cute Utility Vehicle?
Cramped-sport Utility Vehicle?

Modern Mazda hatches look more like a dog taking a shit than the Crossfire ever did. They look fucking awful. I don't understand what the thirst for Mazda's are. Russian rust with okay reliability? Beige as fuck engines?

So it's a slow, significantly less attractive (yes, you'll disagree with my use of the term attractive but I love them), Japanese version of the Porsche Macan?

That's actually pretty nice looking. It'll likely get a lot of sales because small SUVs are popular now.

What none of you lot obviously have is small children and an apartment. Small children+apartment=small car.
If I didn't buy the ST a few weeks ago, I'd have bought this. Or at least a Mazdaspeed version of this. Think about it: 200+hp 2.0L turbo, AWD, manual.

I like it as well.

I think you need to have your eyes checked.

Aside from them both having 2-box shapes, that looks pretty much nothing like a Cayenne.

Nope, they are just fine. They are trying too hard to be interesting, like the RC-F, and it looks awful.

I hate the Lexus spindle grille but the Mazda kodo grille doesn't bother me.
The Crossfire remains an abomination surpassed in ugliness only by the Sebring of similar vintage, and the Aztek.

The grille doesn't bother me, it's the back.
They look awful.

It stands for crossover utility vehicle I think

I guess I'm not seeing the problem, because the backs look fine to me too. I mean, they're copying Alfa Romeo's hatchback styling, but yeah, doesn't look bad to me. There's only so many ways to design a hatchback anyway.

Wouldn't that be a Macan?

No. Although it might be a Kia:

It's even stupider when you realize one of us gets paid to write this stuff.
