The new 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack is by far the best performance car value you can buy today. It's an even way better value than the Hellcat.
Hear me out The Scat pack is equipped with the SRT's 485HP 6.4L V8, Brembo brakes,20"wheels,suede seats and more all for just $38,495.00. That is an astonishingly low $79.37/hp.
The ever praised Hellcat is $59,995. Is the Hellcat a good deal? Absolutely! But not as good a deal as the Scat Pack. The Hellcat is $84.85/HP
I know what you are thinking. A V6 Mustang is an even better deal at only $76.12/HP ($23,600/310hp)but the V6 Stang is not what I would call a performance car. With it's regular brakes, economy tires, no features & 16" wheels it still leaves a lot to be desired. Better HP/$ yes but it is definitely a worst value.
Same thing goes for the V6 Camaro $73.39/HP ($23,705/323hp) yes it's a better HP per dollar than the scat pack but it's a base camaro would you really want that over the scat pack? I didn't think so.
I wish the Scat Pack would of been around in 2010 when I bought my 2010 Challenger 6.1L SRT8 with 425HP. ($53,000/425hp) $124.70/HP! $45.33 more per HP than the Scat Pack! That's a HORRIBLE Value.

I didn't realize cloth seats kept a car from being a performance car.

and 16" wheels.
My Taurus has 16" wheels and cloth seats so the math checks out.

What's the $/hp/lb though?
Just curious how that would affect the comparison to other cars, esp. the C7 Stingray.

nope the V6 stang is not a performance car it is a sporty car there is a difference. regular car brakes, economy tires, ect. nothing that screams performance.

I think I would get a scat pack Rt if I ever pick up a Challenger some day. Side exhaust? Shaker hood? Brembo brakes? Sounds good to me
(I know this is a 2014)

What does any of that have to do with cloth vs. leather seats?

nothing really I was just stating that it's a pretty spartan car so even if it has a slightly better HP/$ it's still a worst value.

Not if we are talking performance value. If all you care about is performance/$$ then cloth seats and small wheels mean nothing.

C7 Stingray is $0.0355/hp/lb $54000/460hp/3300lb
Scat pack is $0.0188/hp/lp $38495/485hp/4200lb
The Scat pack still wins in overall value.

True but standard brakes, standard suspension and shitty tires mean a lot.

Well, depending on the size of the interior, it's usually more like 5 - 15 cowpower.
Which is really more fun to say, anyway.
