The dealer porter recognizes you, and knows exactly where you need to be dropped off.

Couldn't this also mean you have an awesome car?

I suppose, but then why would you need to be at the dealer so often?

Oil changes and other routine maintenance.

This is not always a bad thing. The porters recognize my exhaust note blocks away from the dealership and fight to be the one who drives ELWOOD thru the service bay. They know where to drop me off because this is a high-end dealer and they pride themselves on knowing each customer.

Luckily, they also know it's DVR-equipped with multiple sensors active. I don't much worry about them abusing my vehicle. New porters and some sales staff get ride-alongs to ensure they respect the car. Matter of fact, my last oil change ended up free because it just happened to be the day the District Manager was there and everyone in the dealership wanted me to give him a presentation on the mods, records, history and then a ride.

I like letting them handle the little things - fluid changes, roof recalibrations, etc. And they do my TPMS resets for free. I make them feel a part of Team ELWOOD and their support is a big factor in my relations with Corporate HQ and Team Cadillac Racing.

Sounds fun!

In my situation, they know me at the Buick-GMC dealer near my work, because the CPO '11 Malibu I bought from them back in January has been averaging a major problem every 1100 miles. I'll be trading that pile of crap in this weekend. Gonna get the wifey a new CX-5.
