Glow plug time.. and its also boost weather. But today I got out of class and it was 25 degrees in Fredrick and my car had been sitting for two days because I stayed on campus with my girlfriend last night, I go to start it and I has to wait for more that half a second for the glow plug light to go out and she high idled for a while. Thats how I know its officially cold. Best part is my heat takes FOREVER when its this cold because diesels don't like the cold AND my transmission is very chunky when its still cold out.

I wish mine had a plug in block heater, the old pickup had one but my car doesn't really need one and the times when I wish it had one is when I would have nowhere to access an outlet haha

the block heaters were standard on the candian one IIRC
it was funny, we joked that he bought a tractor with a plug in the bumper for a while.

A friend of mine had an OBS F-250 and when his engine block heater went out he'd rig a hair dryer to heat his glow plugs.

Yup thats the "Wait to start" basically, it means the glow plugs are running before you start the car

Bro we got it the same ! hahah the little diesel is so cranky and grumbly when its cold out haha

hahaha thats a new one. The ones in my dads 2000 F-250 died when I was at work and i killed the batterys trying to start the truck. I had to leave it at my work for a week and a half till it was warm enough to start it without the glow plugs.

No electric preheaters in your vents?

know the feels. all summer car was split-second start. Last few mornings have been "turn key, no start, realize it's cold, let light go out, then turn over and let high idle.
This is now a diesel commiseration thread.
