My replacement shift knob arrived last Saturday. You might recognize it as the base RSX 5-MT knob or as the optional Fit knob. In any case, it was a pretty good buy at $40, considering that the stock knob cost about the same and the titanium JDM and leather USDM Integra Type-R knobs go for anywhere from $50 to $100+. I'm not dropping $100 on a shift knob.
Weirdly, the 6-speed knob was a few dollars cheaper, but I'd look like a fucking moron putting a 6-speed knob on a 5-speed car. Or a genius, because I'd catch some thief unaware. But then I'd be an idiot because he'd have to force my car from 5th to R...
I left out the little collar because it rode way too high for my liking (i.e. covered the entire linkage except for the knob) and I'm not sure if I want to move it down to show off that sweet dual-bend linkage or keep it up like this.
The old one is heavy like a house brick - I'm pretty sure I could throw it through a window. It didn't really help shifting because I'd still grind gears every so often and it was totally the shift knob's fault. Not mine whatsoever.
I took it off because it never felt quite the same since I let my friend drive it. It always felt a little sweatier after that day no matter how hard I cleaned it. Moreover, the PVC leather covering (not real leather) is starting to disintegrate and I hated having to dust black shavings off my hands.
I'm still keeping it though. I just need to find something in my house with a 10x1.5 metric thread.

For some reason, "it always felt a little sweatier after that day no matter how hard I cleaned it" made me laugh a lot. Like the dude is just so damn sweaty that everything he touches is sweaty... forever.

He was nervous about making perfect stoplight launches. His solution was to go agonizingly slow and gentle with the throttle inputs. I had to keep urging him to be harder on the car.

I put one of the Pep Boys (spensive with a japanese name, I want to say Takata, but I know thats entirely wrong) aftermarket ones on my Maxima. Aluminum and weighted, but really small. Wish I had a picture but made it feel totally different. Only thing is during the winter...

Needs more B&M short shift lever and poly bushings too. Those mods helped so much. My 2nd Integra:
