One of the most polarized groups I think I've ever seen is the Ford vs. Chevy/Holden camps.

lol
As an American car fan who's owned Chevy's and Fords, I just don't get it.
Wouldn't it be a better usage of our time to hate foreign cars in unity?

Why laugh at each other when we can laugh at people who speak different and wear funny hats?

Why hate any cars? Wow I sound like a dirty hippy!

But I love funny hats!

We do...when they pose a threat.

yea get outta here hippy!
And I just dislike foreign cars, I completely respect the capabilities of some of them, whether it be performance or reliability. I just don't like them.

I am definitely biased and love GM but that doesn't mean I can't respect and possibly love a Ford product. Those Mopars on the other hand can go burn in a ditch.

I actually have a good article to reference on that, but it's way too serious - title "I Can Tolerate Anything Except the Outgroup". Familiarity doesn't breed contempt so much as familiarity with those we've chosen to exclude does so. People who wear funny hats *somewhere else* just aren't as handy.

It's more of a very healthy rivalry. Used to in our area it was mostly F-body cars, now it's predominantly Mustangs with a smattering of Corvettes.

Ironically, in my little corner of NE Oklahoma, some people are GMC vs Chevy. They are literally the same truck. And They refuse to cross shop one another. It's crazy...

I like that there is this rivalry because it drives both parties to do better. Look what happens when you don't partake in rivalry, you become Dodge.

I work with someone who makes fun of the work GMCs while driving a Chevy Silverado.

I remember growing up the Silverado was to Wrangler like GMC was to Levi's. GMC was more the foreman's truck or whatever since it was a little more uplevel. Whatever.

I just don't get it. I guess the closest thing would be left twix beefing with right twix lol

My brother has Chevy, Cadillac, and GMC franchises in the same building. GM made him build a seperate sales floor for GMC.

I don't miss my days as a Fox body enthusiast for this reason. I love all
cool ('cool') cars, so never understood the hatred. Same thing with the motorcycles, I had a Buell, DR650 and a Harley all at the same time, so, depending on the day of the week, had different groups snub me.

I was raised a Chevy man. I gave gramps so much crap about driving a Ford truck that he threatened to stop and kick me out beside the road.
I have evolved beyond this. I now drive a Ford and my project is both Chevrolet and Ford.

Did Lexus unveil a new car?
