This comes down solely to my own personal preference. I for one detest Chevrolet and would never buy one if I could buy a similar vehicle from Ford or Dodge(I will however never bash someone for liking chevy). But I have to say I'm awfully impressed with their line up. They offer all the right stuff that no one else is doing.

The Colorado: The perfect small pickup and the only one to be offered in NA with a diesel. (ARE YOU LISTENING FORD?)

The Cruze diesel: The only sub 30K diesel passenger car this side of VW and it comes beautifully equipped right out of the box.

The Spark: The closest thing to a Kei car you can buy today.

The Impala: An absolute beauty! worlds better than the Ford Taurus. This is the only chevy I would possibly consider because my god is it ever a good looking car.

The SS: A nice subtle performance sedan that is way less "in your face" than the Charger although not offered in Canada I still like the idea of it.

If only their "normal" cars were a bit better built or a bit better to drive. They all feel 'meh' and the same when you're behind the wheel.

I agree. I have a new style Ford Fusion and it's an absolute delight to drive (for a mid size sedan). A Malibu on the other hand is hell.But I like what chevy builds but I don't like the quality or boringness.

But if Ford offered the same stuff: Diesel Ford Ranger,Diesel Ford Focus,Ford KA and a Taurus that does not suck. They would easily be the best north american car company this side of Tesla.

I was never a Ford man I was always a Mopar guy. But when looking for new cars we drove the Fords and loved them so much that we bought 2 of them. A 2013 Fusion and a 2013 Escape. The quality of the Ford products is nowhere near what they were in years past. I'm now a converted Ford guy.

I was raised a GM guy and I now own a pre Roger Smith era vehicle Pontiac, but as far as new cars go, if I had to buy new it would hard to get me into something not built by Dodge.

I still much like Dodge. I'm looking at a basic truck and the Dodge is the best value of them all. For $19,999 I can get a 395hp Hemi powered truck with cruise and A/C. that's a smoking deal compared to the Base F150 for the same price has a 300hp V6 with A/C but no cruise.

And don't even get me started on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack that is the deal of a life time. I can't believe you can get so much for so little. 485HP and brembos for $38K. That's $20K less than I payed for my 425hp 6.1L 2010 Challenger SRT8.

I was brought up GM and German.....I actually owned two GM products, two german products, and a dodge van.......and my first new car was the tiny ford hatchback with a bunch of bottle rockets up its butt.

I honestly forgot about the SS since it's not offered in Canada. I like the Idea of it a lot! it is much less "in your face" than the Charger and ford also has nothing comparable.

I'm still surprised ford never brought the Aussie Falcon over here because that's everything I want in a car: subtle & powerful 4 door rwd sedan

I still think the tacoma is the best small truck you can buy but it needs a refresh as you saw me post last week. If they ever make a diesel Tacoma it would be very hard for me to justify not buying it.

The quality is nowhere near where it needs to be but the idea of the cars they offer is great.

If Ford made the same cars ex: Australian Ford Ranger, diesel Focus, Ford KA, Aussie Ford Falcon and a good Taurus. they would be unstoppable.

Crazy indeed I'm seriously considering a Challenger Scat Pack as at that price it is pretty hard to beat. The scat pack is the best HP per dollar car you can buy today. At a mere $78/HP it's a even better value than the Hellcat at $85/HP.

If they just updated the engine to the 4Runner's 4.0 and gave it a 6-8 speed auto for those that want the auto, I would be completely okay with it. I personally think it is still the best looking truck on sale today.

'If they wanted' being the operative part. You're looking at an extremely low volume (in the grand scheme of things) platform needing to be converted to LHD. You're also looking at high production costs if you build it in AU and ship it to the US/Canada. Couple that with the fact that the car would potentially cannibalize sales from the Fusion, Taurus and Mustang and you can see why they wouldn't do it.

Even if Ford decided they needed a new RWD V6/V8 sedan to be build in the US the Falcon is a 6 year old platform already. It's all a moot point anyway, it's dead in 2016.

Not really. It's not bad but not a mould breaker or anything. It's actually a rebodied Fiat Panda/500 and is made by Fiat in Poland. It's a slow seller.

Drive an Impala and a Taurus back-to-back and THEN tell me you'd rather own the Chevy. The Impala reminds me of a late 90s Jetta. When you first get in it, you think "man, this car rides pretty nice." Then you start to notice that the damping strategy is all wrong (again). It pretends to ride well on smooth roads, but heave that barge over a railroad crossing and it porpoises really bad. It's like the low-speed damper guys and the high-speed damper guys were working in different buildings (and I'm talking about damper speed, not vehicle speed). Totally wrong.

I guess I'm still just butt-hurt about the super-loaded Impala I rented for a week. What a waste of money. I should have taken the Genesis upgrade. I was sooooo looking forward to that sweet 3.6 (which is ok but ruined by the transmission, which sucks in typical 2010's fashion), and the promises of hours of absolutely serene highway cruising that Impalas of yore provided. Instead, I got a car that was quick but rode like a Lumina APV with those god-awful Monroe Sensatracs... It was quick and the interior faked luxury pretty well (vinyl seats that look like leather are a thing now, I guess), but that damping was just so bad it couldn't be ignored.

I like Chevy. I also think disregarding a car simply because of the badge is dumb. It'd be one thing if you didn't like the cars, but you're basically saying you like the cars Chevy makes but won't buy them purely because it's a Chevy.

I love the Aussie Falcons, why Ford never brought them over is mind boggling. That's one of the things I don't like about Ford. If you want a performance car, your pretty much stuck with a Mustang. As much as I love the Raptors, they're a different kind of performance that we're looking for. Dodge at least has a much better selection.

In a way that's exactly what I'm saying. I like that chevy is making a small truck I just wish Ford would of been the ones to do it with the Ranger.

There is a difference between I like that someone is making it vs I like it.

I like the idea of the Colorado but I don't like the Colorado.

I don't judge if you like chevy, I'm actually all for it but for me it's just not my thing.

I've never liked chevy and I don't trust them whatsoever. I could never buy a car from a company I can't trust. It's nothing personal. any other brand tho I don't do the brand judging thing (I would buy a Kia no problem) but something about chevy has always rubbed me the wrong way. I hope one day my mind can be changed but that day won't be today.
