One of my friends/customers is an engineer...and a racer...and does amazing things like datalogging cylinder pressure to develop and tune his 4G63.

Here's a link to him installing the sensors in the cylinder head. Samples with 1 degree crankshaft rotation accuracy. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

He does some amazing stuff. So I'm told by my boss, and good friend, who was a fellow DSM owner for a very long time. I remember being told about him installing mivec cams into a 4G head. Here's a pic of the two, Kiggly and my boss, lined up in the staging lane

What is the sampling rate on that? It has to be somewhere in the vicinity of 500kHz? Probably even 1MHz?

^ 1GB owner "Hey I know Kiggly...a dsm thing on Oppo that I didn't post? ay?"

Sheesh individual cylinder pressure monitoring to determine optimum intake runner/ exhaust length. Only a classic 4G63 owner... the aftermarket support especially amongst low volume specialists for these cars is just staggering.

Now I most definitely want the sodium filled valves from the Evo 8, pistons fit too. if you know any deals on kiggly springs lemme know I'm about to buy my mechanic's 264 cams.

That car is completely nuts. Also, watching him update facebook with his "science project" over the last couple weeks makes me warm and fuzzy inside, just to know that people like him exist.

Yep, I've been doing pistons with him for a long time and he's the best at giving us data we can use to make incremental improvements to the parts.

He told me once but I don't remember now. He does turn 10k rpm, so it's up there.

Kevin is a long time friend of mine and I do the pistons for him. If you need similar pistons, it's just a matter of emailing me at bnutter@wiseco.com and we'll go through your combination. As for springs etc., I can forward your contact info to him and maybe that gets you a little better deal. And parts selection is a part of it, but he's learned some very interesting things that make big power with a soft tune. He had a seminar at Norwalk in the summer that was very informative.

Very gifted and shares a lot of what he learns as well to those of us with less than genius IQ. :)

Yup. Most humble person to ever make me feel completely inadequate as an engineer.

So, somewhere north of 3MHz. Not to shabby.

My god y...yes to all of that Woohoo thank you magical Wiseco man! You continue to bless DSMer's. Nothin' fancy 9.5:1, .20 overbore which the block is prepped for...Then can I find a 2.1 stroker crank and some eagle rods on the classifieds and I'll be a happy camper. Thought I heard about that seminar is he doin another one??

The most compelling tweak I've recently invested in to cheat out bigger power is a boost referenced methanol injection system from NX. I've heard good things, won't know until I get it on a dyno properly installed and tuned so I won't break something I guess.

Currently its getting a new turbo installed as I type this. Least that's what the mech is supposed to be doin This November. Next we can work on getting me sponsorship for rallycrossin : )

Hey thanks! Mention coupon code Oppo and we'll see what I can do :) We don't have off the shelf pistons for 94mm crank 1g, just the 100mm 4g64 crank. It would be easy to do a custom with the correct height and dish volume to hit your number...probably 1400hd forging and pin. Are you thinking of putting the injector upstream or downstream?

Haha jeezums I would looove the 1400 wrist pins to go along with the pistons that would be one beefy ass indestructable setup, yeah lets do that. Never planned on boosting past 26psi but if I can go to 36 why not haha...

Well that is awesome y'know I'm just going to go with a 4g64 crank, ideally with WPC treatment, more cost effective and likely end up more satisfied with the 2.3-4 liters, revving past stock redline isn't a priority.

I'm putting the injector downstream I know upstream can work just dandy but I didn't want to tempt any more corroded turbo issues...though you just reminded me about whether or not the injector should go before the GM airflow sensor, which in this case is also downstream, or after it

ok, so the best deal will be with a custom variant of the k627m855 piston...just reducing dish volume a bit to hit your c.r. target. Send me an email at bnutter@wiseco.com when you're ready to purchase along with what we've talked about and we'll get the piston lined out. Thanks, Brian
