Yup I do drive a micro POS right now :)

(Notice the impeccable bro-parking... I put my car there just for the picture ;) )

The car is actually not bad, very reactive, precise and turns on a dime... It's just that the autotragic is what it is: tragic...

Japan sure has some small cars. That LC is huge.

Sorry for you bro, but the Land Cruiser looks pretty badass!

I also really like the JDM Daihatsu Copen roadster

They are everywhere here... I live 20 minutes away from Toyota city and I think I see about 5 to 10 GT86/BRZ everyday... Really crazy at how successful this car got here...

It would require a rather big bed, but it definitly could... it's 340cm long and 148cm wide... :)

You need to paint that thing yellow, at least then you can pretend it's your old corvette...

At the very least, driving a kei car in urban Japan is probably more fun than driving that bro-cruiser.

The width would actually fit, except for the wheel wells. It would fit into the average landscaper's dump truck, no problem!

Is it the picture angle, or is there a fat bro on the driver side of the Land Cruiser?

I'm afraid you are victim of the "can't have it" syndrome :)

Yes a huge majority of kei cars are total crap. They are designed to cheap to buy, cheap to run and cheap to license. Just because they are extremely tiny and under powered does not make them good in any way :)

Imagine a base rental Kia Rio, but very small, slower, less comfortable and less practical. This is what most kei cars are. Not exactly awesome to say the least :)

Kinja'd!!!

That's what make them great the fact that they are so cheap.

The thing with a base Kia Rio is that yes the car is cheaper but everything else cost the exact same as a bigger car. So why bother with a Kia Rio in the first place?

But take that same Kia Rio and make the insurance a fraction of a "normal car" and make the licensing/parking/taxes and everything else way cheaper that a "normal car" then that crappy Kia Rio is a FANTASTIC car.

Driving a kei car is the cheapest form of 4 wheeled motoring and that's what makes it great.

For the price of a base Kia Rio you could get a fully loaded Kei car and to me that is awesome value.

The insurance and licensing are not that much cheaper than with a normal (30% off maybe) car, it gets about the same gas mileage as any other "economical" car and believe me when I say that most of them are unconfortable. Seats are usually finer than a potato chip and suspension are as cheap as the rest of the car. My Corvette was more confortable than the Subaru R2 I'm driving now and that means A LOT.

Most poeple drool at kei-car because of this "can't have it" disease that most Jalop have, which means that any car they cannot have is AWESOME! Sure a fully loaded kei-van will be more confortable, and ingenuous in some ways... But in the end of the day, it's still a cheap ass car that is not that cheap overall when new...

Not all keicars are AZ-1 or Cappuccinos unfortunatly :)
