How are they in the snow, we don't usually get too much but it does get cold and damp for months on end. Have fitted winter tyres on mine just for the extra security.

THe snow tires make it slide. Everywhere. All the time. But it is SO CONTROLLABLE. Everyone is freaking out as I slide the back end around to make a tight corner and get on an on ramp but it's so easy to do!

Snow tires are a must. But it is just fine provided you are ready to catch the gentle slides it loves to do.

I have an STi. Ran summer bfg g-sport 2's one season in the snow. Fairly heavy snow for VA. Enough to shut down the highway's and that the salt trucks / plows couldn't keep up with the rate of snow falling. Basically a snow traffic nightmare. Snow covered roads and jackknifed Semi's for everyone!
Needless to say I got home with my summer tires. Slide quite a bit. Butt clinching slides. Got snow tires next year. Hankook I-pikes or something. The difference is fucking incredible. It takes some god damn commitment and effort to perform kenneth block wannabe slides in snow now. The grip is just there. Complete different car. What snow I couldn't traverse just ended up being plowed and packed into the big smiling blue front facia.

As long as you were in a large open flat no grade are it was more fun with
The snow tires grip is honestly unbelievable.
1st-2nd gear hooligan pulls from a stop just sets you off hard-ish and straight. No sideways shuffling the steering wheel shenanigans. Many people here in Virginia do not buy snow tires (i sold tires for about 2 years) because they believe all terrain tires are just as good, stupidly.
I honestly was one of those people.. sorta. I knew snow tires were superior. But never knew just how much better they would be. The control and feeling of invincibility in the snow at least in an pig-sti makes me foolishly feel like Walter Rourke or Petter Solberg. You find yourself basically offering a taxi service because "hey look what I can do."
All in all, here I am years later still ranting about 4 rubbers in white stuff.
