I'm considering getting the bottoms for track/autox use and a set of those in 17x7.5 for daily use and keeping my 16x6.5 for rallyx!

Why not use the stock rims for autox?

Not wide enough, can only go up to 215 width, too much sidewall, etc

And for rallyx the wheels have to be the same diameter as stock...

'98. Stock is 245/xxR16. I'm running Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500s on 'period correct' BOSS 304 rims. They grip like hell and it's an appropriate setup for the car.

That's the same size I run for my track wheels/slicks. Except since they are a slick they are probably a little bit bigger than stated.

Yep, these would be for track/autox/occasional street use... the first set pictured I would prrobably get in 17" with 225/45R17 tires for street use...

It sounds elaborate, but they were among the cheapest /decent/ tires available in that size. The fact that they were specifically designed for my car was just cocaine-tainted icing on the acid laced cake that is Firebird ownership.

Did I mention my car is on its 3rd engine and only 2nd set of tires since I've owned it?
