$15,000 for a sexy looking convertible with 70,000 miles. If I had money... I'd need even more to keep up with the maintenance. Salvage title, but the dealer seems honest about it at least.

love these. Today I was waiting for the bus and a woman pulled up in a minty one and parked in front of the bus stop. I wasn't even mad.

I don't think anyone will ever think that the person driving this is either rich (Because it isn't a recent model) or poor (Because SL Mercedes)

It is nicely put together, and the dealer was honest and upfront about the title which makes me respect them more.

A salvage title is never a nice price. There's a couple grand worth of ABC hydraulic suspension parts under that bumper, you kind of have to know what you are doing when working on that system. Very easily could have put the wrong fluid in, or done something else that won't be an issue immediately. Front bumper is wrong color and misaligned. If it were minor damage it wouldn't have a dirty title. Oh, and can't forget about the SBC brake unit just behind a headlight, that's not cheap, and again if done wrong could be even more expensive down the road. You would be better off getting a pristine R129 for the same money than this car. I've seen a lot of really shady crap on cars with dirty titles, things you would never guess until you lift it up and take some under panels off. I would never ever buy any dirty titled car unless it was going to be beat on (LeMons or off-roader) and not driven on the street, or if I saw the damage and knew the shop that fixed it, and it would have to be a Mercedes certified shop. I know how rigorous the process to become certified is, and have seen the work non-certified shops do.

TLDR: crack pipe. Stay away.

If it was May or June and I could buy that, drive it for 4 months and then sell it before anything broke I would NP it. If you wanted to keep it for a couple years that thing is gonna come with hefty bills attached

SOLUTION: CarMax Warranty!!!!
