"Gizmo - The Only Good Gremlin, but don't feed me after Midnight" (gizmoq)

Took a friend out for his Birthday yesterday. After the concert, I took him for a drive and then let him drive ELWOOD, my XLR-V. Yes, I still name all my cars. He said driving this, his dream car, made his birthday complete. I figured I really didn't have anything else to do, I knew he lusted for the car, and the car is just sitting in storage till my Thanksgiving trip to Louisiana, so why not. Full tank of gas, full reservoir of alcohol, cold enough for the supercharger to really whine. Go for it!
He later compared me to the character in the Dos Equis advertisement which made us all laugh. Then he explained his justification for the comparison. Now granted, he only knows me from working together online and car shows. Whenever we get together, its in a large group, its car related and lots of alcohol is consumed. So he has only a cursory view of my past and followed my exploits for the last 10 years via Facebook and our online forum. But, he mentioned some really extraordinary events that he did know about and it got me thinking - I have lived a very blessed life. I try not to flaunt it and most of my friends only know what they need to know. I prefer to do rather than brag about it.
So I woke up this morning in a great mood and thought Oppo doesn't know who I am either. An AMA might be a good place to start, but when is the best time to open up a thread so those who follow me can all chime in? Well I just read the moderators guidance on the subject.

And here's a brief intro. 52, retired, VFW member, St Louis metro in the good ole US of A, car nut since I was 5. I've lost count of how many cars I've owned. Hobbies are computers, CarPCs, technology integration, cars, travel, cars, and travel. I flew my first aircraft at 11. I was drag racing by 14. At 15, I was the youngest to ever be accepted into the Air Force Academy. Flew for a while, then moved into design and R&D of leading edge weapons systems. On the internet before it was the internet. Installed my first PC in a car in 1984 - complete with GPS, HUD, and what is now called an MP3 player. Flown faster than the speed of sound, driven over 200MPH, touched space, but never scuba dive more than 100ft (hate water sports).
Cadillacs are my passion. Currently own 3. Have owned as many as 7. My favorite is the 59 Eldorado convertible, but haven't found one to buy yet. I started my mid-life crisis late in life, so I'm now racing an XLR-V in every venue I can get into. Currently hold 2 world records for the car in Land Speed Racing and was class champion for autocross. The XLR is extremely modified, but still street legal and driven to all my races (for now...the Elwood Transport, E.T. for short is in work).
So have at it folks, I'll be here all day and most of the weekend - its supposed to snow tomorrow so I'm staying in bed.
