1337HP, K-Roll, and everyone else. This is a statement of conflict resolution and an encouragement to everyone reading this.

We are all car lovers here. And people. People are freaking immature. And smart. And they know how to learn and grow. Which makes the immature thing a transitive state. As a community we uplift each other and give constructive criticism. " I see what you think, but I think this," is way better than 'you fucking noob, ______'s are way better.'

We all have unpopular opinions and things to work on.

Our community is full of people young and old, learning in schools, and settled into careers.

We can only grow. Our love of vehicles conveys a love for mankind's art and engineering, and thus, design, music, drama, film, electronics, mathematics, and poetry. Cars are an embodiment of a continuing cross-cultural/cross-industry expression! The wheeled vehicle is a form of intellectual content!

Oppositelock is a community of people who appreciate the art of appreciating.

Appreciate and discuss each other and our common interests, regardless of where we are divergent. We will always have points of intersection.

K-Roll is a 19 year old. I was 20 a month ago. People on here have treated me like shit before, and they have no excuse. They've learned and apologized, and more goons will take their place as the day comes.

As a sociology major, I recognize the innovative possibilities when a community maintains cohesiveness and solidarity. No one has to be angry or ashamed. We learn and move on, and do not repeat the behavior. Don't give up. Besides, this isn't the cesspool of moral depravity that some sites like 4chan is for instance.

We all have a little writer, journalist, or scholar in us. If you read and have an opinion you are probably human. Continue writing, continue discussing. Continue making the world a better place on the corner of the digital and physical realm you occupy.

In the end, this is naught but a car blog. We aren't neckbeards doomed a table-bound existence of WofW tournaments with Mountain Dews clutched to our sides, at community college for the 8th year, taking everything personally written on the internet. (If you're that guy, it's ok, time to change your life!)

This is a process of growing; Oppo is beautiful. Jalopnik is beautiful. But they are just part of life! If you can't practice the most basic patience towards your fellow man online (on an enthusiast's site) like this, how can you conduct yourself professionally?

Make your life beautiful. K-Roll, you are humble. But don't simply leave because you are tired of defending your unpopular opinions. 1337HP, be careful of how you treat others online. People may not have the same constitution you do and may take things way, way more personally. Have an open mind.

Do you see it? Someone photoshop or illustrate a 944 and a shark toothed S-197 Tandem drifting so we can bury the hatchet.

When you get a negative reply on the Internet, and I've had more than my share, there's that initial feeling in the pit of your stomach, and it sucks. Then you realize that nobody's opinion of your words changes who you are. Just move on and be who you are. Lots of people will accept you, some won't. That's one of Life's biggest lessons. If you spend your time chewing yourself up over the few who disagree with you, even if they're being rude about it, you'll get an ulcer. It's not worth it.

I was 19 once too. The most important lesson of growing up was learning to say "fuck it" and move on with my life when someone said something bad. Does it hurt? Yeah, sometimes. But fuck it. Life's too short to have hissy fits and grudges.

I have to believe that in spite of the badge of the car we drive, how many cylinders are in out engine, how many pedals we work, or which wheels drive our vehicle, we are all united by our love of the automobile. Sure, we'll argue and tease, and maybe some of us have a little to learn sometimes, but we're all here for the same reason. We're here to celebrate what we love.

I gravitated toward Jalopnik because while it's certainly not a 'news' heavy as the other sites, the overall community is really positive. Sure there is trolling, but on the whole, we are all here to enjoy ourselves. Keep Oppo Oppo. For all of us.

I didn't see what happened to K-roll this go around. But regardless of that, treating people with respect is part of being human. I might clash with people quite a bit, but I know at the end of the day evryone has their own opinions and you should respect that.

As for posting more substantive content, I agree it would be nice to see. But I'm quite guilty of not doing this, as a solid 90% of my time on oppo is done on my phone. Writing posts on a phone is a pain in the ass.

Oppo can't really be like the Front Page. Oppo exists as a contrast to it, as a place to put the stuff only tangetially related to cars, and we bloody well need that. We need a place that allows us to be who we are as people, because freedom to think and to speak (with a few important exceptions) is a core component to the function of a community.

More researched, FP worthy articles are always welcome, but the forum will never not have a major off-topic component to it. Also, the FP guys can do that all the time because that is their job and they are being compensated for it. 1-2 FP worthy posts a week from me, a person with multiple jobs and one day off if he is lucky is strictly AintGotTimeFoDat.jpg Territory, and I suspect the same can be said of others here who have careers/families/other time consuming and more important obligations.

The funny thing is that's my 302 Ford V8 with a new intake and a 4 barrel holley on it.

other than that it's stock, even has original manifolds, no headers.

I miss having a V8 in my corral. I had an '03 Ram for a couple years with the Hemi. I put a Flowmaster 50 Series Deltaflow on it and it sounded so sweet.

Yeah my dad has a 09 Silverado with true dual 50 series on it. Sounds great. Perfect for daily usage.

The Montego is pushing the "too loud" limit. I wouldn't be able to daily it, my ears hurt if I spend more than 4 hours in it in one weekend.
