And I love my car. Really.
It's gorgeous and stands out from all others. It has so many toys even though it is, in and of itself, a toy. It's the first car I bought on my own (and am currently paying for). I leased before it, but that's like renting. Before that, family cars. This is mine. I obsessed over trying to find something and I came up with it.
But I still find myself pining over the loss of my family's truck. I think about my life with a truck every other day. Potholes show up and I think about it. I get to a speed bump and I think about it. I go to Home Depot and I think about it.

Anyone else miss their old vehicles?

My first car spent more time in the shop than in my possession, and that's actually not an exaggeration. While a sane person would interpret that to mean it wasn't a car worth keeping, I can only think about how much more time I wish I'd had with it.

My old Celica from high school was my first car, and I still have a deep nostalgic love for it. It's sitting in my parents' garage, and thanks to some work I did with my dad over the summer it's now plated and insured again. I might go out this weekend, change the oil like I promised, and take it for a spin again.

I completely understand how you feel and I'm now going to write a massive monologue to my old car.
I learned how to drive manual and how to drive in the first place in my dad's 1999 Honda Accord Sedan. It just had the four cylinder SOHC motor, but to 16-year-old me that car was amazing to drive. ~2,700ish pounds, think roughly 150 bhp, fwd, and a 5-speed meant I had tons of fun and couldn't get into too much trouble. Car had absolutely no power at all under 3,000 rpm, but running it to redline in the first three cars was a ton of fun at the time.
I did some seriously stupid shit in that car. When I was 17, I was getting into rallying a bit. Like any 17-year-old dumbass, I thought I had driving skills for days and would go on dirt and gravel roads in my neighborhood and hoon down them while ripping the e-brake through the low speed corners. Lost it once with a friend of mine in the passenger seat and just narrowly avoided hitting a tree and totaling the car. I'm much older now and this is beyond stupid to me, but I'm sure some Oppos have similar stories. You're young and dumb and think you can drive well beyond your real skill level.
Winter of 2008 the car received serious damage to the frame after I hit a patch of black ice and skidded into a curb. The allseasons were pretty worn down and it was a particularly bad winter. Car's steering was never really the same and the frame was bent, but it still drove and it was still my baby.
I left for college in 2009 and the Accord did not follow me to school until the beginning of Junior year. It saw me through some tough Midwest winters going back and forth downtown to my internship senior year. I also took the car back and forth from my girlfriend's parent's house about three hours away. Car worked like a champ and never needed much more than the occasional oil change.
Fast forward a bit to late 2013 and the start of my first big boy job. My company was providing a vehicle reimbursement allowance due to the amount of driving I would be doing for work. The Accord had 175,000 on the odometer and had some impending big maintenance requirements coming up (timing belt mainly). I made the decision to purchase a new car and ordered a Focus ST.
The Accord saw me through another 4,000 miles before the Focus arrived in late March of 2014. I ended up selling it to a mechanic who had worked on the car before. Before I sold it, I went on one last drive down a few country roads I knew, revmatching perfectly with the excellently placed stock pedals and really putting it through its paces one last time. I still think I'm faster in that car than I am in my Focus ST.
I was pretty emotional about parting with the car and almost turned around twice before finally arriving at the auto shop and completing the sale. I still think about that car to this day. While the Focus can be a fun ride, I had a lot of memories and experiences in that Honda. If I didn't have that as my first car, I don't know if my passion for cars would be as strong as it is.
Couple pictures. Nothing special, I know, but it was my baby.
Last picture I took of the car. Taken right before I sold it:
