I'm not bragging or trying to rub it in anyone's face who has or is stuck with a car they don't love or just flat out hate.

I love the way it drives. I love the way it looks. I love the joy it brings. I want to drive again, something the Corolla killed in me.

Why do you love your ride?

Cheap, fun looking, suprisingly comfortable, decent stereo for a cheap car, folding glass roof. Also it's my first car so I love it for that.

When I'm out of the city, driving my car just makes me happy. It's not the fastest, but it's as fast as I want it. It doesn't have the best stereo, but the stereo is as good as I want it. It doesn't have the most cargo space, but it can fit anything I want to put in it.

And most importantly, every time I think about replacing it, there's at least one thing my car does better than any other one out there.

It's very capable in seemingly all weather conditions.

It handles pretty well for the having 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

It's just as happy off pavement as it is on.

It is cavernous inside, which is great for camping, or other things:

It will allow me to eventually get an impractical project car, and not have to depend on it.

- Doesn't look like anything else on the road.
- Just short of Prius fuel economy.
- Fits my personality and level of self expression like a glove.
- Rear engine, rear drive.

I could go on and on. :)

Ye', I absolutely love my baby-girl. She looks beautiful, graceful and understated and in no way 'flashy' but she offers room and comfort to the level of a car several times per price. She has everything I want and/or need and some more I didn't know I wanted/needed. Even people who aren't 'car people' compliment her and say how great she is.

Kinja'd!!!

The comfort of the ride, the handling, the responsiveness of the steering and pedals, everything about her makes me feel it's something special and something different.

She's only a manual 1.4TSi but offers all the power I want/need. Next year I'll be going for a manual 1.8TSi.

Myself and a friend used to run computer donations at our high school. Anything that we got running well would go to students in need. We would accept anything for donation however, and had a lot of fun tinkering with some of the older computers we got. Anything that wasn't worth getting running or fixing was scrapped (there was lots of scrapping).

Most of the computers above were what was left from the end of our time at high school. A couple of the better ones did end up finding new homes. We kept in touch with one teacher in particular who occasionally has students in need. The rest are just random hobby machines and spare parts.

I love my xB for the fact it is always willing & able to do whatever I need or want it to. From autocrossing to towing a (small) trailer to moving to spirited driving to roadtripping a thousand miles. It does it all without complaint and while still managing to be nippy and fun to drive. I love it for the fact that seven year on it still makes me grin when I see it in a parking lot.

Kinja'd!!!

I love the truck for its brutal simplicity. It has all the things needed to be a truck and not one thing more. I love the fact that it has no pretensions of being cooler or fancier than it needs to be, but when I fire it up it'll just go out and do the job. I also can't help but admire something that survived 50 years of hard work and is still chugging along.

Me too. I'll be so bummed when the Jeep is sold. I love the BMW because it's fun. She's been my project for a few years now and I've grown so attached to her. Quite literally, my blood, sweat, tears, and money have gone into the 2002 and I am so proud that I've even been able to (mostly) keep her on the road. The 2002 is a blast to drive, faster than I expected, and makes a decent noise now. I feel so connected with it when I'm ripping through back-wood roads. That is my nirvana, my meditation, and the source of so much of my happiness.

The Jeep, while I don't have as much of an emotional connection to it, has been such a great part of so many memories in the last year and a half. I've piled friends in the back seat with the top and doors off to go to the beach, done some light off-roading with a friend who has never even been in a car on a dirt road, and driven from Connecticut, to South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, New York, Massachusetts, and Maine. It has been a reliable friend and has gotten me to school, work, and just around. Damn. I'm really going to miss it.

They're a blast, but they aren't too easy to get into trouble with. Stock, and with good tires, you have to be trying pretty hard to break traction (unless its raining, and then that's way too easy because of how light the car is). They feel quicker than they are, and honestly I can have a lot of fun with it without excessive speed. A slightly lowered 2002 with a better steering wheel and wider wheels/tires is an amazing thing.

Most people in the northwest don't do it either, but I usually pick up a beater each year for around the cost of a decent winter tire set-up (the semi slicks on the FR-S are not good in temps below 45). I then sell it in the spring for around what I paid (and maybe a little more).

Gives me a chance to try out owning a bunch of different cars that are at the bottom of their respective markets.

I financed it, but paid it off early several month ago. It makes me happy every time I drive it, or even just walk up to it, so I honestly don't even pay attention to what it's costing me in gas.

Plus there is nothing quite as fun as trying to kill a car you don't really have much stake in. I rallycrossed my last beater (an old Jetta), snow hooned it, crashed it, fixed it with junkyard parts then rallycrossed and crashed it all over again again.

In the end I wasn't able to permanently kill it...

You hit the nail on the head with your second line.

It's a little nerve-wracking every time I go to the track, at least in the days leading up to it, but as soon as I'm there, all of that just fades away. The car handles so well and predictably and the power is so linear, put that together with the fact that I'm slow to build up my confidence to test the limits, and it's just a good time - therapeutic, even.

My fastest time came on my last session this time out:

While I've never tracked, I definitely agree on driving being therapeutic. Whenever I go to my favorite local twisty roads I always leave feeling much more relaxed, even though i'm usually pretty tense on the drive over (lots of elevation changes, many turns, the occasional blind corner).

Impressive time, I'm surprised the 700whp Vette couldn't keep up! Goes to show how great the M3 is with a seasoned driver..
