My '82 Alfa GTV6 is being considered for use in a Richard Linklater film, but they'd like the history. I think they want to make sure the car has actual Texan roots. Anyway, if someone has an account and could run a VIN report for me I'd appreciate it! Hopefully it'll show the original purchase date and location.

Leave it to Richard Linklater or Wes Anderson to utter the most hipster thing ever heard, "someone run a check on that car to make sure it's authentically Texan."
That will be a cool claim to fame. You'll never be able to retire that car afterward.

Or sell it with the credentials that it appeared in the sequel to Dazed & Confused.
Oh, and probably less hipster, more autistic. Linklater is as about as unpretentious as they come, at least in Hollywood circles. Dude goes to PTA meetings.

This kinda makes me kinda sad. Why are only sequels and remakes getting made these days? So many good pictures have had their legacy tarnished by cha-ching-pay-me followups. You would think auteurs would be immune to this.

I'm hopeful. I don't know if it's so much a sequel as it is a film set in the same world. I trust Linklater. I mean, the entire "Before..." series is fantastic. He's qualified to make a solid sequel.

True, true. I sorta wondered about him in the "rotoscopic" phase, but yeah he's legit.

Haha this is the most kickass thing I've heard recently. Can't help you on the CarFax front, unfortunately, but good luck!
