When I was little, my cousin and I were being followed by witches who lived at Circle-K and had novelty front license plates. So whenever we were followed by one of those cars, or passed a Circle-K, we had to hold our breath until we saw an American flag. Unless the license plate had Mickey Mouse on it, in which case we were immune to the witches for the rest of the day, because that car was actually a "Goonkie" delivery truck and therefore on our side.

And now you know.

Did you just make that up? That was pretty awesome.

Here's my real life Circle K story: We're at a party. The host takes my buddy aside and says "give me a ride downtown." They end up in an abandoned Circle K parking lot on the main drag and the host starts doing shady business out of the passenger side window, taking a bag inside and examining the contents. First time my friend starts paying attention, this guy outside says to the customer-in-thief "Hey, you're not going to grab that and run, you're going to pay me!" while he in turn cocks his head and mutters " Drive, drive!" Exeunt omnes. Curtain.

So the moral of this story is: don't give shady bastards a ride to Circle K or next thing you know you'll not only be doing drug deals, but you'll also have grizzled coke dealers on your trail.

Actually, nope! That's a completely real account of one of our childhood fantasy road trip games. :P

And goddamn, that sounds insane. I did once take a friend to buy weed, unknowingly of course, and we got pulled over on the way home. Needless to say, I made him empty his pockets before getting in my car from that point onward. Luckily he never opened the stuff so the cop couldn't smell it, but that was way too close for comfort.
