4000- something pounds and 467 horsepower. Is it enough power for today's standards? Too heavy? I can't make up my mind on this car, I feel like it's just going to be a curiosity and no one will take it seriously like the M3/4 or RS5.

I like it.
Not only do I not hate the styling, but it's got a NA V8 engine that sounds glorious.

I like it a lot. The seats are extremely comfortable compared to the M4 and the price tag is a little better. The M4 packed out gets north of $80k, the RCF is around $70k.
On a track the RCF has a more understeer at first but is a lot more comfortable on the edge. The M4 is definitely more raw, but not in a fun way all the time.
Also, the M4 sounds like a Honda generator when you start it up. It sounds good under acceleration, but on idle it just sounds weird. Tbe RCF has that V8 rumble and sounds pretty damn good.
The RCF is not available with a manual however. The 8-speed is good even when giving hot laps on a track, but if it's the row your own option you're after, you'll have to go for the Bimmer.

I want one NOOOOW!!!! Because NA Yamaha V8 goodness!
No car in this segment is better than the other. Everyone is always looking for the best, THERE IS NO BEST!!!
Audi- Quattro goodness
Merc- Noise and luxury goodness
BMW- Lightness and tech goodness
Lexus- Quality and noise goodness
Cadillac- Beautiful and suspension goodness
You decide what you like and who cares what the others think. 99% of people (kids on the internet) that only care about the "numbers", can't afford one lol :]
If I had the money... Turbo Coyote swapped/ maunal swapped Panther for the weekends and a 7.3 Power Stroke swapped Panther as a DD. Both cars should cost about $65,000

Looks are amazing. I feel it's something fresh. I'm a little over saturated with m3/m4/e30/hellcat/eco boost stang. I think it's a little heavy, but i can see tuners making this scream soon.

I generally dislike Lexus but I respect the IS F and RC F. Mostly because that high-revving NA V8 is pretty appealing.
As for the M3/M4 comparison, I think the main reason someone would choose the RC F is if they prefer the NA V8 over the turbo I6. Unless they want the NA V8 in the RS5 instead.
As for the RS5, it's like 50 lbs heavier than the RC F.

This is what I'm looking forward too. Someone making a FI setup for it.

I quite like it but I just picture sitting in the waiting room next to a guy with a RX talking about his parking sensors, his daughter's piano lessons, and the Stock Market. I just... I'm not sure if I could ever into a new Lexus(as a 23 year old male wanna-be rally driver). Honestly I'd still hoon this shit out of one though. In that orange too, please.

It's a cool car but I'd have a hard time choosing it over the competition.
Drawbacks:
Very heavy
Auto instead of proper DCT
Terribly ugly front end. I could get over the first two if I was buying it solely as a sporty DD, but it's just so ugly and they could have done so much better with this.

It's a bit too heavy, and a bit too ugly, but there's something cool about a Japanese muscle car.

I can't find myself to be bothered by it. I don't know why, I think its because the front ends of all F cars (LFA excluded) are so tragic. Hood too tall and bulbous, meeting an angular face with tiny squinty headlights. I don't know, maybe its just that this HP war is getting old. 467 hp is a lot, and its going to be fast...but its not as crazy or interesting as if it were smaller, lighter and less powerful. a 400 hp high revving motor with a stick in something that looked like and is250 would be interesting.

I made a post when it came out:

Would not buy over an M4 because of the lack of a manuel.

I think it looks amazing, but I consider it more a GT car than hardcore performance machine.

I'm just curious what others think. I'm in no position to buy a car this expensive.

its not so much the grill even...which I hate but understand that they are trying to be bold...its the marriage of the grill with a car that looks uncomfortable with it on.

Just too much grille, tone it down dammit!

I like the idea of it, the NA V8, comfy-Lexusness, but would like a manual option. The color options are pretty wild. Maybe a little too loud for my perceived use of the car but hopefully it can draw the crowd they want.
Biggest killer for me is that ENORMOUS grille. That thing is huge.

I love the Lexus waiting room. Comfortable leather chairs, peace and quiet, free soda, free Starbucks, nice snacks.
I volunteer to take the car in for service now. I take a book and relax or watch whatever game they have showing on the TV for an hour. It is pure bliss (speaking as a former 23 year old wanna-be rally driver who is now a 34 year old attorney with a toddler running loose at home).

I think its too heavy and ugly. But I am stuck in the '90s early '00s with my car taste.

I might like it, if all of its competitors didn't exist.
