I don't know any other automotive journalist that drives as well as this guy, granted he is a race car driver; however, the best thing is, he's more eloquent than most automotive journalists. He's telling you EVERYTHING about the car and how it reacts on track, in an extremely informative and crystal clear manner, WHILE HE'S SETTING A HOT LAP! And he's not slow either.
Most of you already know this but it has to be mentioned. When he did a hot lap of Laguna Seca in the Corvette ZR1, he set the track record for a production car during the review. Talking to the camera the whole lap. This guy is epic. Seeing him drive is one of the most entertaining things I've ever seen. Here's the ZR1 lap:
Apparently when Ralph Gilles heard that the Viper was slower than the Vette during the comparison, he stated, according to autoblog, "There is a lot more left in the car, Randy has always struggled with the Viper."
I love Gilles and what he has done for Chrysler and SRT, but that being said, it doesn't look like Randy is "struggling" to me.

I watched all those motor trend head to head video's just a couple of days ago. It was fun and ur right Probst is good but he'll always be second best to my favorite of all time, Tiff Needell

I'm not really a fan of Tiff tbh. I don't doubt he's a fantastic driver, I just find his personality annoying.

He does not set the hot laps while talking.
They film him doing the hot lap, and film him talking while driving around the track at other times, then cut them together.

Lol you're not the only one. But luckily i can look past that to the type of person he is, the type of driver he is and i gotta say, the man is blessed with skills and balls. Same with Randy.

That’s often true, Brian. Though on some great-handling cars, like the GT2RS, I comment and hot lap at same time.
