For some reason, I love cars with odd, quirky styling. It adds so much character. What I find interesting about this car is that it's engine is in front of the driver, yet mounted well behind the front axle.
It competed in a time when homologation was a thing, and they made two road-legal versions, one with the most brilliant paint scheme I've ever seen.

Do they still make Panoz? I saw a roadster like ten years ago in a texas walmart parking lot and never heard nor seen one since.

I know they're still big in racing, and they still make the Esperante, for some reason.

They ALMOST made the Abruzzi road car, but they didn't. THANKS OBAMA.

I think it is hideous. If you want a race car from a small American company, why not get a Saleen S7R?

I love the car. The factory Panoz team came to WGI in 1998 and boy the sound of the brute of the motor with the looks just blew my mind.

The chances you'd be able to buy a Saleen S7 are a hell of a lot greater than the chances of being able to buy a GTR-1 road car.

So totally awesome. I love that Panoz insists on racing things that everyone says won't work (Front engined prototype, Sparky, The Deltawing).
