The stars have finally aligned and I've got myself a real monster of a car for a week. This is the first Camaro I've ever driven and only the 2nd "modern" muscle car. I put modern in quotes because although this car is a marvel of innovation it is still just a big V8, paired with a manual transmission, that'll destroy tires and delight/scare passengers.
Honestly I'm already really impressed with how docile it can be when driving around city streets, something that I believe it pretty damn important for any powerful rig with 3 pedals. 2nd gear starts are incredibly easy and you can drop it into 4th for comfortable street cruising.
But that's not what you care about, you wanna know if it makes ladies weak in the knees and guys green with jealous rage. So far it has a head turning factor of 2 out of 10 which is surprising. However this is Los Angeles and for the most part people are a.) jaded and don't turn to acknowledge anything other than a hypercar, b.) think cars are stupid which is why they drive a Prius or c.) busy texting their agent before their shift at Chilis.
Anyhow, I'll be driving it up Highway 395 to Mammoth Lakes, CA tomorrow and I think that should provide me with ample opportunity to let it stretch it's legs as well as listen to all the classic rock I can handle. I'm willing to bet it turns many a head rolling through Bishop, I might even get a nod or two.
What do you want to know about Chevy's throwback to the days when KISS ruled the world and your mom wore 10lbs of make up to hit the roller disco?

So when they loan you these cars, do they stipulate anything about the tires? Like 'Do not bring them back bald!'?

Interestingly enough, they don't.
Downer is that you can tell these tires have already been driven pretty frickin hard.
