I disagree. Brad was going for the win. Gordon left a hole large enough for Brad to decide to go for it. Gordon closed hole, contact happened. That's racing.

Brad went after a hole that was sort of there risking two other drivers (24 and 48) in the 8 that were soon to be reduced to 4. He was also endangering everyone behind them that were 2 and 3 wide at that point. That's lousy racing.

Newman, on the last corner of the last lap, went after one more spot with a moderate probability of success and a high probability of taking out someone that wasn't going to win the race and was already out of the chase (the 42). He knew at that point that one more spot was all he needed to stay in the chase. He risked no other chasers finish. That's racing.
