"sm70- why not Duesenberg?" (sm70-whynotduesenberg)

You may have noticed I've been posting a lot of these lately. Well, that's because I've started re-stocking my Autotrader Favorites list, which has been empty since I bought my car. Anyhow, the trouble with buying a semi-modern Bentley or Rolls-Royce is that people may think of you as a massive poser. Whether or not you care about that is up to you. Fortunately, this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , while not technically "of age", could easily be considered a classic/future classic, and is therefor exempt from such judgement. The other issue with owning a Bentley is cost of maintenance. This car won't help you there. But with timeless, elegant good looks finished in classic British racing green, who cares? The interior is also finished in the correct color, with plush tan leather, more wood than Sequoia National Park, and a general air of wealth and taste. Actually, you only need one of those things to purchase this fine motorcar, because even with just 40,xxx miles on the clock, the asking price is just shy of $28,000. Without risking to claim that you should, "Buy this supercharged V16 nuclear-powered diamondmobile for less than a used Yaris", that is a lot of car for Camry money. And it's not slow, thanks to a turbocharged 6.75 litre V8 pumping out nearly 300 horsepower and a not inconsiderable 487 lbs/ft of torque. Whether or not you think this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is worth the money remains to be seen, but there can be no doubt that it is an awesome car, and would be even cooler going sideways at 75mph with a massive smoke cloud in tow.

NP, every single square Bentley/Rolls is NP. I love these cars, more than I should.

NP, show me how you can be a baller of that level for less. Besides it is the right color for me.

Turbo Rs are amazing. We have a black one at the family's shop and it is an absolute dream. I think it definitely falls into the potential future-classic category and it's actually a lot of fun to whip around it. Something about flying past people in a 20-year-old luxo barge is almost as amusing as doing donuts in an empty parking lot. "It's not slow" is an understatement. I'm not sure if it's actually as fast as it feels, or if its such a boat and you expect it to be a little sluggish so it feels significantly faster than it is. Either way, Nice Price. Definitely nice price.

Love the car, absolutely despise the steering wheel. Looks like it came out of a Caravan or something...Stupid 1st gen airbags ruining interiors.
Price though? This is a bit high. Around here, with <60k these are going for closer to 20-22k. >80k or with some missing trim some have gone for <15k.

It's the same with all Jags/Land Rovers/Bentleys/Rollers of that era. They really did not make very visually appealing airbag covers. A nice wood-rimmed metal wheel would be more appropriate.
