Creedence Clearwater Revival - I Heard it Through the Gravepine looks like 40's- early 50's Mercedes.
And Felix da Housecat - Silverscreen/Shower Scene is Fiat 124 coupe.

Mitch Murder's Burning Chrome was pretty nice.
This one's nice too.

There should be an El Camino on this cover.

Wow, I am surprised that Snoop Dogg has a Datsun 510 on an album cover. Who knew he was into Japanese Nostalgia?

Because E30 M3....Good Album, loved it. Frank Ocean has some good taste in cars.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:13 |

Looks like a late '30s Mercedes-Benz, maybe a W143 chassis?
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:14 |

Looking through here...
I think The Black Keys is the only one on this list TWICE. Hell yeah.
Talk about some obscure albums though. Well done.

Nearly half of my Dad's records seem to have a car on the front. Some are just LPs of drag race audio. I really like this musical brochure for Pontiac.

Recycler by ZZ Top is a pretty good one too, including the back cover.
The Beach Boys trail not too far behind:
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:18 |

There needs to be a correction on Mr. Oizo. That is not a 70 Chevelle. 1970 has quad headlights. 71 and 72 have single headlights. The difference between 71 and 72 is the turn signals. 71 has a split signal, while the 72 has a single light.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:19 |

Also, how come you forgot Kavinsky? Surely you have room for 80's Testarossa and sick retro synth music.

1965 Ford Galaxie 500. The Boss and the photographer actually slept in it while doing the shoot, for the sessions that would first lead to Darkness on the Edge of Town and the recent collection of unreleased tracks The Promise.

This screams to be on the list. I used to think the car was a Corvette, but now I think Ferrari 365. Vargas was more concerned with the women in his work, and I think we're all grateful for that.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:31 |

Some by Donald Byrd:

It would be awesome to get all of these on a wallpaper sized poster! I would totally buy a poster or print one out on the company plotters!

Impressed that you have 3 Fu Manchu albums, but you're missing some of their better ones

Before the Miata, the answer was always E-Type (especially if the question was "What the hell leaked all over the garage floor?").

You have two Fu Manchu covers, but forgot the best one: In Search Of . . .
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:48 |

I actually own a copy of this. Just because it is cool. No, it is not for sale.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:48 |

That's officially the weirdest bumper sticker I've ever seen.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:51 |

Because Alpine.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:51 |

Okay, so it's a car's interior, but that car is a DeLorean. Neon Neon's 'Stainless Style' is a concept album all about them.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:52 |
|
I think Neko Case wins hands down followed by Ok Go.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:54 |

No Candy-O? Hell, the name of the band is The Cars!

My favorite in terms of picture. My favorite in terms of the songs was another Fu Manchu album that was on the list, King of the Road.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:58 |
|
Fun list; here are a few more that come to mind:
(Some versions show him in a right-hand-drive car)
For small values of "car":
(and for large values of "car," I'm trying to think of which album associated with him had a Pete or Freightliner with a flatbed full of hay on the back cover or maybe liner notes, evocatively enough though for no apparent reason....)
Supposedly Chris Rea's actual ride in those days...
![]() 11/10/2014 at 11:59 |
|
Nope - actually a '66.

A blast from my high school past
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:01 |

Jazz great Donald Byrd had some classic ones. Some have been copied. I believe Tone Loc did a homage to the album cover featuring the Jag.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:09 |
|
I'm partial to the Vee Vee album by Archers of Loaf, but that's probably because it looks exactly like my car.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:12 |
|
Totally agree. Classiest ever. I also just posted A New Perspective and Off To the Races (with the SL). Forgot about The Cat Walk. Just great. Pre-dates them all, right?
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:17 |

Subliminal?
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:19 |
|
The CD liner is full of beautiful 90s minivans such as this. Tis art.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:23 |
|
That's not a Road Runner. That's a sedan, not a coupe. It's likely a Belvedere, but could be a Satellite.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:23 |
|
I want to say the car on Eminem's album is a 70's Caprice, though the wheel cover looks Eldorado 'ish.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:31 |
|
I need to listen to that album because: wtf?
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:31 |
|
I want to get all of these just for the collectibility of having a cars album covers in my vinyl collection.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:32 |

He used to drive one in high school.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:33 |

that isnt a 89..its an 85-87..look at the wheels
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:39 |

I skipped all movie soundtracks because the cars are always about the movie and not the artist.
I would have added the Blues Brothers first!
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:39 |

Corrected! I love that kind of knowledge.
![]() 11/10/2014 at 12:40 |
