Both can be had for the same price. Both go 0-60 in about 4.5s. Both are rear-wheel drive. Both have tiny back seats.

135is gets better gas mileage, lighter weight, but slightly used and has higher maintenance costs and non-functioning turn signal.

Mustang has V8, "presence", it's new, cheaper to maintain, but it's heavy, gets not so good mileage, and it's bigger than I'd like.

Odds are slim I'll be getting a new car soon, but the prices matched up eerily well. I think I'd have the 135is because it's going to be a classic, but I'd have to test out both.

DD — 135is

Track — Mustang GT

Burn — Panamera

(Yeah random, I just don't like the Panamera)

Wild card- WRX sub 5 second 0-60 handles better than the GT at least as good if not better than the BMW. New car warranty, seats 4.

I'd go for the 135is, but I'm a bit biased.

I'm concerned that you think the WRX is a better handler than either of the other two (assuming GT trackpack, because you gotta) in anything but crappy road conditions.

handles better than the GT is a lofty claim. Especially with performance packages they can be made to handle extremely well.

1/4 mile Mustang GT 13.0@113,

135is 13.3@107

braking 70-0 Mustang GT 149ft.

135is 70-0 158ft.

Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: Mustang GT 0.95 g

Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 135is 0.87 g

Is anybody seriously cross-shopping the two?

I think the big issue with the 135is is the open differential and skinny rear tires. If BMW put a LSD and wider rear tires I think the skid pad would be fairly similar.

2015 GT.

Looks great. V8. New car warranty (though Ford warranty is meh). Cheaper to maintain. More reliable.

Terrible interior. Looks like a rental car. Don't get me wrong, I love the WRX but it's a very different car.

I loved my 08 STI but it didn't handle better than either of those cars. It stuck to the road like a beast, but the steering was numb.

Stang all the way. More reliable, more modable for cheap, more attractive, more special right now, looks hella great.
