Well, I've been playing Assetto Corsa for a couple weeks and thanks to whoever posted this online, I found an Xbox 360 controller setup that is similar to Forza 4. Although it isn't perfect, I feel like it is the best. However, I have some issues within the game.
First off, has anyone here been able to complete any of the drift challenges? The highest I've ever gotten was 10,000 ish points. Never have I even been near the 50,000 mark! Also, does a car really snap the bad if you don't drift right? I'm confused!
Anyway, I've been getting better and I'm now 18% done with the career. I feel the career has been improving my driving skills (or playing skills?). What is Oppo's experience with this game?

I can't even imagine how you would be able to achieve anything without a wheel... The drift challenge with the e46 is tons of fun and i can do pretty good there... but without a g27 properly configured, forget it lol. I'd go as far as saying that I would not be able to do anything without a triple screen setup with a proper FOV allowing me to look inside the corner with a proper sense of speed... So get a proper wheel, setup a proper FOV and practice.... you will see... fairly easy then....
And yes, proper is the key word here hahaha

I'm guessing you've done this. I want a wheel so bad, but my next tax refund is going towards school and IT certification classes for hopefully a better job.

I don't know your budget, but i bought my g27 3 years ago for 200$... i was still a poor student then... it depends how much you play but it's really not that expensive of you spend s minimum of time on it...

You don't have to have a G27 or a triple monitor setup to play but if you ever have used a wheel you will not know how you ever used a controller before and you will never be able to go back. I used to be pretty good with a controller and now I can't do much more than just farting around with one. If you want to elevate your experience I would recommend just buying a used driving force wheel on ebay. They're under $100 and although the pedals are crap and it doesn't have a clutch or a proper manual shifter it gives you what you are sorely lacking: steering feedback and a large analog instrument to adjust your line with.
I can't recommend a triple monitor setup because of multiple reasons but the biggest one is the oculus rift. VR is probably going to have a bigger effect on racing games than any other type of game mainly because our inputs are already pretty similar to real life where everyone else is still using keyboards and controllers.

I kind of did want the G27, but I might go for your suggestion. As long as I get force feedback, I'm okay with that. Does the G27 clutch even have feedback to it?

Yeah the G27 has force feedback and so does the Driving Force GT. The main advantages of the G27 over a DFGT is that the G27 has a clutch pedal and a h pattern shifter as well as superior pedal feel. That being said if you just want to feel steering feedback and the ability to dial in a proper racing line on a budget than a DFGT is a great start.

I'm saying do the clutch, brake, and gas pedals give feedback?

They have tension but I'm not aware of any wheel and pedal set where the pedals have feedback.

I want a G27 or a Fanatec but honestly I don't have enough free time to appreciate the DFGT I already have.

True, I'm right there with you. I honestly don't have too much free time on my hands to give to video games.

I have so little time to play the last three times I tried to play AC I just played with the controller because I didn't have the time to bother hooking up the wheel.

And the controller isn't so bad once you get used to it.

Once you get a wheel you'll never be able to say that again. I used to be pretty decent and now I am absolute crap without a wheel.

I would not doubt that for a moment! I spent a good hour or so last night pricing out a wheel and came up short.
