But they should be for $50,000-$100,000 up to a 6" stroke, can pull 2 g's, was setup to run iRacing. Actyally got a decent adrenaline rush from it

Yes, but...
If you are going to spend *that* kind of money on a *simulator*, why not, I don't know, buy a track car and some track days/run ChumpCar or LeMons ?

Dear god I want to try one of these so bad. Probably the only way I'll get to drive a Nissan GT-R

I always wondered how these things worked. If you're racing at Daytona or something and sustain a 2g corner for like 20 seconds what does it do? You would end up in your neighbors yard crossing his doorstep at 438mph hahaha I'm guessing it just runs out of stroke instantly and then you have no sensation of lateral acceleration. Obvious limitations aside, I would really like to try one like this.

The dumb thing is the wheel stays stationary while the seat moves around it, that's not realistic in the slightest.

Why not both? But you can do all kinds of things with a simulator/game that you wouldn't do in real life. Drive it while completely hammered, for one thing. Drive it every evening when you get home from work. That kind of thing.

Why not both indeed?
But while a simulator can be fun, it doesn't replace being able to do the real thing. You don't get the whole immersive experience sitting in front of a screen. iRacing or X-Plane.
That reminds me, I should sign up for flight school. :)
It just seems that $50K is a huge sum of money to spend on just a simulator. $3-5K on a simulator? I could see that as a reasonable.

It's just about how much money you have. If you can afford to buy a simulator and also go racing, then great. If I ever win some stupid lottery jackpot, I'd definitely have a few sim setups for playing with my mates while drinking, and that kind of thing. And also a private racetrack. Two different categories of fun, for me. I reckon I'd have at least one simulator that was as good as you could get, even if the others were somewhat cheaper.

The wheel moves with the seat and the pedals

I must be getting it mixed up with another rig then, I retract my statement.

Very simple. Take how much a car costs. Now add on how much it costs to pay to go into a race/participate in a track day. Plus maintenance. You can't just go to any track within a minute. Also don't forget weather can prevent you from being able to be on the track. And seasons. And the fact that there is actual death involved.
50,000-100,000 for a simulator like that, I mean i've seen better to be honest. Also there are better wheels than a clubsport wheel... =/
