Got that SR20 on my ipotato5. I also saw a white new Escape in front of the last gen escape and they look soo different. The old one actually looks like it can go off road.

"I'd like an A6, but with some styling that doesn't look like an A4 that's been inflated to 40psi."

"Certainly sir, have an A7."

I'd take the A8 and debadge it. Precisely because it can pass for an A6.

I find the whole 4 door coupe meme a bit off-putting (6er Gran Coupe, CLS, A7, etc). If you want a coupe, get a freaking coupe. If you want a saloon, get a freaking saloon.

Otherwise everything new is going to be a 4 door coupe crossover/wagon on tall tires thing, and we'll all be driving X6s.

EDIT: And if you want a convertible, then we'd all be driving a 4 door version of the Murano CrossCabriolet.

I understand what you mean. Audis all look identical for the most part, except for the R8 (obviously) and the A7. I like the look of the first and current-gen CLS and the 6 Gran Coupe looks okay. However, it kinda bugs me that they call it a coupe. I think I have somebody around me that that owns a white CrossCabriolet. I believe it's an old person because the only times I've seen it, it was pulling into one of those 55 and over communities. You know the ones that are full of old curmudgeons that will kick you out if you and your kids are just taking a bike ride around the community. True story. Anyway, I don't hate the CrossCab. It's so weird that it has to be Jalop right? I'm just happy Nissan is on of those companies that still makes weird shit like the CrossCab and the Juke GTR thing.

The old Escape was built on a fairly unique platform that was just for the Escape, Mercury Mariner, and the Mazda Tribute. The new Escape shares the latest Focus platform, so you're probably right.

But the identical looks have a good side and a bad side.

The bad side is that your schamntzy A8 W12 looks exactly like an A3 2.0T.

The good side is that your A8 W12 looks exactly like an A3 2.0T.

This allows you to enjoy luxury without being a complete ass in some people's eyes (because they cannot or will not spend $140K on an A8 W12).

Yea I thought so. It looks good but I bet a Panther is better than it off road. :)

Probably better in terms of suspension articulation and durability, but I would think traction would be an issue.

True, that's why I think Mr. Regular of Regular Car Reviews made a good point in his S4 review. It doesn't looks like a fast car. The very German restrain in styling on the performance versions reminds me of older M cars like the E39 M5. Other than the M badge or S badge in Audi's case, they're sleepers.

I'd make a sizable bet that it's better than the current car I have so if you're a disgruntled Audi owner I'd happily do a trade!

When I went to get my first car there was an old pre-facelift last-gen White and Brown two-tone Town Car sitting in the back. I wanted it so badly. That's one clean Panther you got there! I always like the Merc Marauder. I just wish before Ford pulled the plug they would have done a special final performance version with a Coyote V8

Yeah, that would have been amazing, but it probably wasn't in their best interests financially. By the time my 2007 was made, sales were half and half again of what they'd been a few years prior.

I wanted a Marauder but I got a Panther that was three years newer with low mileage for several thousand dollars less than the price of one. I'd like to one one in the future possibly, or just fulfill the Coyote-in-a-Panther prophecy.

If I had the money I'd make a gran-touring Coyote Panther. Make it fast, handle and upgrade the Interior to Lincoln level if not better. I dig this picture, especially the F-86 Sabre in the background. I think I've found another picture for my wallpaper slideshow. Thanks for the shameless whoring!

I wouldn't mess with the handling of mine, the floaty boat characteristics suit the car I think. I'd just stick the Coyote in there so that it could really throw you back into your seat (I mean couch) when you wanted to move, because mine just can't do that. I've owned quite a few different cars and my Panther is far and away my favorite just because its so smooth, quiet, and, I'm not sure...it just feels right.

If you need a bigger version of that photo I might have one, unfortunately I took it with my cell phone and then went to town with the editing, so its not exactly the highest resolution. But you're welcome. I've got hundreds more photos of my Panther lol.

It kills me that the S7 and RS7 are 4-seaters, not 5 like the A7 (married with 3 kids).

it seems to be hit and miss. the only problem my dad has had with his A3 TDI is that thge EGR valve needed cleaning twice in 75K miles. we didnt even need brake pads until 70K miles. the tires (both OEM summer and OEM winter could still go a 6th season, thought its pushing it, and even the friggen wiper blades lasted 4 and a half years.

They probably use Bosch wipers. My dads merc has them. They're expensive as all hell but they last. The only Audi I know that's pretty unreliable is the older all roads.

I agree that some of the 2000's audis were..intresting. but I dont understand why everyone shits on them so hard. I dont see them banging BMW for the HPFP issues.

True and don't forget the sucky SMG trans on the E46. I'm no Audi fanboy at all but I just think people are jealous of their lemans dominance. also some people who drive them are dicks. Just look at all the Audi driver jokes top gear has made.

I think part of the reason is that they are FWD when they dont have the quattro system in.

merc and BMW both have RWD based. oh well.

Doesnt make me want an S4 any less. People also seem to forget that Audi more or less made the crazy over-powered wagon market and pretty much runs the place. AND the awesome DSG's. BMW and merc can have all the PR in the world, but you want an auto AWD winter car, audis systems are second to none. .
