Was driving home from a few errands yesterday. Decided to take a road I haven't been before. Of course, there was a huge bump in the road. There was oncoming traffic, so I couldn't swerve out of the way. Considering how low this damn spoiler is (it is ridiculous), it scraped on this bump. I didn't think much of it. I get home today and decide to check it out. Turns out I have this big ass scrape on my front spoiler now. This pisses me off. I spent an entire day putting that spoiler on, and now it has a huge scrape on it. Anyone have any ideas on how to cover this scrape up a bit? It is going to piss me off every time I look at it now.
On the plus side, the 'Vette is running better than ever. I replaced the mass air flow burn off sensor, which wasn't working properly. Because of this, some of the oil from my K&N got inside my mass air flow sensor. And, since the burn off sensor wasn't working correctly, it coated some of the sensor. This made the mass air flow sensor give the car incorrect readings, which made the car run like shit. I replaced the burn off sensor and cleaned my mass air flow sensor. I also cleaned out my K&N and re-oiled it. I put a lot less oil on it, so there is less of a chance of oil getting in the mass air flow sensor again. She runs like a charm now.
Another downside, though. My cassette player is shot :( It keeps switching sides of the cassette every two seconds. I'll probably just take it out and get it professionally rebuilt, but that's expensive, and I would like to get a few other things done before that. The radio still works, so its not too big of a deal.
So, that's the C4 right now. Being difficult and pleasant at the same time, per usual.

Heat gun on low, wet sponge. Should be able to smooth it out a bit I guess.

plastidip

I'll have to give it a shot this weekend. Anything to make it less noticeable, the better. Its not terribly noticeable, but it will now catch my eye every time I walk in front of the car.

Hmmm. Good idea. I just might give that a shot.

I can't guarantee that it'll be perfect but it should work (just keep the heat low), you might have to use some bumper shine after though.

It doesn't need to be perfect, I just want it to be a little less apparent. I'll be sure to try it.

Black duct tape should take care of it. Your car will also become more Jalop in the process.

vinyl wrap. All you need is scissors and a hair dryer. You can get carbon fiber if you want, or just plain black.

Oppo sticker!

Lol, I don't really want to put duct tape on my spoiler. It won't really match it. Would be funny, though.

On the front spoiler? Lol, nah.
I'm actually considering getting an Oppo sticker for it, though.

I don't trust oiled air filters. Just stopped in to say this.
IIRC correctly, Honda used to have a black plastic scratch fixing spray thing they used on all the Element plastic. That may be worth a shot. Heat may work or it may start to wrinkle the plastic a bit. Be careful. Plastidip may be the best option as you can always peel it off it sucks. I've had some success with it on custom fabbed interior brackets - matches the color and texture of ABS pretty damn well. Just mask up appropriately (but again it comes off super easy).

Yeah, I wasn't being fully serious either. It would be interesting though.

Could I buy that in a store? Only place I've seen it is online. I would probably get plain black.

You may be able to find it in an art & crafts or print shop. I would just give you the extra CF wrap I have but I don't think you're local.

Yeah. That's why I took it out and washed it out. The thing was massively oiled from the factory. I washed it out, and just lightly oiled it myself. Hopefully that works out.
Huh, never heard of that. I might have to look into that. Seems like a pretty good option. Yeah, I might give Plasti-Dip a try, especially since I already have a few cans of it laying around.

It would be funny to see people's reactions to it. "What the hell is that?" "Oh, that. Its just some duct tape. You know how it is."

Ah. Maybe I'll take a look around tomorrow. I appreciate the offer, but I don't know if it want my spoiler to look CF.

Those things are ALWAYS over-oiled, hahaha. A fine line to walk...

Tell them it's Bear Bond and is only used by people who have cars that will go over 200 mph.
