Chevy had a test drive course set up outside Texas Motor Speedway this past weekend for the NASCAR race. They had alot of vehicles to choose from including the Corvette C7 and the Camaro Z28. Of course I couldn't let the opportunity to drive a new Corvette pass! The course was pretty tight and was marked by cones. The friendly Chevy sales rep that rode along said I could drive the car as I pleased as long as I didn't exceed 25 MPH so this turned into a bit of an autocross run.

I must say the car is an incredible machine and I never got even close to the limits of grip it had. Now I am in no way an expert on high performance cars and rarely get to drive anything fast but this thing sure was a treat to drive.

These statements don't match.... how can one drive as they please but not go over 25? What happens if you hit 26 mph?

Just 25mph? That's like getting with Kate Upton, but you're limited to just the tip.

I totally agree I was dying to mash the throttle but those were the rules.

Yes I know. Driving as I pleased would involve wide open throttle and throwing it into a corner sideways. I did reach 27mph at one point and the Chevy rep riding along didn't say anything but I didn't test their leniency any further

Hell... that's not even the tip. That's like you're on the opposite side of the room from her and she just stands there awkwardly, wondering why you're not taking full advantage of her abilities.

Fail-o-matic? Although is doesn't matter, 25mph is 1st gear in a Corvette no matter what transmission.

It's plastic. The interior is an improvement over the previous model but there is still work to do.

Yeah, what a dull way to experience both of those cars.

They almost designed a good interior then they cheese it up with the steering wheel. GM interiors are bad and GM should feel bad.

The steering wheel already looks like something from 2008 or 2009.

I was going to say I'm jealous, but I wouldn't have been stupidly disappointed if I couldn't do more than 25.

The F30 3-Series has a fancy steering wheel, why not GM's most important sports car ?

Because all the money went into performance?

I haven't touched the C7 steering wheel, but GM's steering wheels lately have been really good. Everyone that's driven my car has commented on how good the wheel feels.
