So I went on the internet today and found this interesting tidbit: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Then weirdly I saw this episode of Top Gear USA.
And it got me thinking what is the cheapest (most realistic) way to get to 150 mph. After literally ten minutes worth of looking around, it turns out it is this:
The Ford Mondeo ST220. (Man I forgot how good this generation of Mondeo looked).
It will do a 155 MPH according to some people but according to most it will do 151 MPH. Also they are real cheap but given that it is a 3.0L V6, I'm not surprised they are available for less than £2,000.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So with that questioned answered for me I'm curious to see what is the cheapest way for you lot to get to 150 MPH. TG USA choices were pretty poor IMO so I'm curious to what bargains are floating around the States and Continental Europe for that matter since driving at 150 MPH seems to be a basic human right on the other side of the Channel.

Honestly, there have to be better choices. I got to 115 in my dad's old Ford Focus before, and that was just the basic SE model. So, just get something a bit more powerful and/or a long, downhill straight.

Do it in KPH instead?

My thoughts exactly. The Saab was too expensive and the Q45 couldn't do it in the first place. I had high hopes for the Trans Am but I guess Adam picked a rough one to save on money.

I'm not a fan of convertibles and I think the sparks flying of the back will irritate the people behind me.

An L67 Pontaic GTP will do it if you remove the limiter.
That Trans Am will do it if it came with performance tires. You could get a $2500 LT-1 car and hit 150+

I sure a good one could do it since Adam's one got close despite falling apart.

One of these. €20 will get you to much more than 150 mph for an hour or two.

Km/h (220,240) is the inside dial and mp/h (140,150) is the outer edge of the dial.
Many cars in Europe have dual speedos.

Ghah, shit. Yeah some of the ones here do too. My Beetle only has KPH, and I dunno what the hell any of it means.

On my car the dial is in MPH only but under the picture of the car in the picture (only shown when door is open) it displaces my current speed in KPH. I suppose it would come in handy it I was to take it over to the continent.

Check again, that's ~240kph, which is ~150mph.. Although it appears to just be a broken speedo on a mid '00's Dodge.

This = so right! I certainly did enjoy Tanner Foust's 2 wheeled Civic:

There's a bit of a difference between doing 115 and 150. Most cars will do 115.
EDIT: Case in point: Focus SVT has 170hp, roughly 50% more power than a normal Focus, and will only do 125.

Damn you beat me to it! Only change I would make is post an older literbike. Can be had for under $2000 and most will approach even 160. 1992-98 GSX-R 1000, CBR 1000, R1, etc...

even an older 600 would do it. my 75HP SV650 will get up to 130.
also, if there are bikes on oppo, i'm there. its just a rule
