First of all, here is this amazing drawing of a RWB Porsche for your time:
So, I'm browsing around Craigs here in Colo. Springs and everyone on here thinks they have cars worth their weight in gold. A 2002 WRX goes for over $6,000!! With over 160,000 miles on it! Then I looked at Outbacks from the same year. $3,500 for a 200,000 miles example. Really? I started looking at 4Runners: 300,000 miles example with rust like no tomorrow. Price? $3,000. Are people stupid or am I a cheapskate?

Those are common off-road/dirt rigs. I have the same issue in WA state. you cannot find an STI of any vintage that hasn't been driven to shit for under 25K

When I was looking for my car, my Dad found an 07 STI covered in stickers, poorly modified and with 120K on the odometer that was going for over 15K. Best part? The auto check showed it had been rolled back from at least 160K! WRX's and other Subaru's hold their price really well no matter the condition. Found another black WRX from 04 with a lot of problems (Including a big power steering leak) going for 11K with 120K miles!

Different generations command different pricing. That is actually dirt fucking cheap for a first gen in almost any condition. Second gens are known for their coughing headgaskets(own one, not that big of a deal in the long run, probably still costs less to run overall) so they go for cheap. Third gen's are know for hitting 400k plus, so that's why they are pricey.

That is so right, Haha.
Like if the seats aren't even remotely blue and it's obviously been debadged and fart canned then it isn't a $6,500 car. Fair value for an average condition car is like $3-4,000.

Translate lyrics of "Let it go" into Japanese.
Translate it back to English.
Then read utter nonsense involving intestinal wind.
So take it with more than a grain of salt.

On a side note, most of the sellers were the types of people I wouldn't trust working on my POS $100 scooter.

I'm with you. Upgrades don't do shit but worsen the value of a car. A car should not be modified unless it has been done professionally (even then, there are some that are awful). I have some fanboyism towards Honda, but I'm not going to pay $3,500 for a CRX that looks like it rolled out of the junkyard.

No, but they are still expensive when compared to the US, there are many cars we never got here because of stupid import taxes, like Land Cruisers. Plus roads here are shitty and most of the mileage in our cars comes from city traffic, so cars lasting longer than 70k miles are rare.

Cars are expensive in HK too. A 2 year old, F30 328i with 21,000 km costs $418,000. Or about US$53,000. Even a six year old E60 530i will still fetch around $248,000, which is about US$32,000. And of course, last gen M3s are expensive too - US$112,106.
