My mom saw a 2010 E350 that she really liked. I talked to Rusto, and he did NOT have a good experience with his W212, anyone have anything they can add to that?
It looks nice, the interior is nice, and the price is nice, thats pretty much all I know so far haha.

Their interiors aren't that nice for the price you pay.

for $25k, it wasn't bad at all, especially after I sat in a new $50k+ Cadillac

they very. Some have a clean history and some have some items that fail even if they have the same miles and serviced regularly. Awesome cars for sure. I've you find one you like, just give it good look. Low miles and clean service history at a good price is key :]

Visiting that forum has been a lifesaver. I drive a W215 and at one point or another have encountered just about every known bug. Had it not been for the tips I picked up there, I would have had to sell a kidney or get rid of the car.

At first I read that as W12, which caused me confusion upon seeing that E-Class.

I was hoping you'd chime in!!
Thanks for the advice, still not sure how my mom wants to go at this. She may just end up trying to find one off lease.

SCREW THIS CAR
I had the prior gen E350 sedan. It was a later year so all the bugs had been fixed (2007). It was a lease and like an idiot I got excited when I got the postcard in the mail about the upcoming 2010 E350 coupe.
So instead of buying out the sedan that I loved that had been so good to me I leased the new coupe. I figured what the fuck, work is paying for it, so YOLO.
Here is my list of why the car was a huge waste of money:
1. It handled like shit. This may be specific to the coupe because of the open greenhouse design. but still unacceptable. It made the prior car feel like an M3 in comparison. The only good thing about the handling was that you could have low-speed fun. The car got wobbly and stuck its tail out at the smallest blip of the throttle.
2. The bluetooth was fucking piss poor. The engineers goofed big time. The location of the mic, interior acoustics, and large wheels and low profile tires made bluetooth unusable. Some people would say "what's the big deal?". Well to me it was a big deal. A Merc is a luxury car. A car to be used for business. Not being able to hold a call without the other person complaining that it sounds like you're in a wind tunnel sucks because you can't legally hold your handset in CA and I'm not going to stick a stupid bluetooth device in my ear when I leased a $55K business coupe to be my rolling office. Bluetooth was perfectly fine in the prior car.
3. The navigation was a joke. The car blocked you out from entering an address while on the move, unless you used voice controls. Try using voice control to enter one of the thousands of long street names that don't exist in the English dictionary because the word is Spanish. The voice control no comprende. This is unacceptable for a business-mobile.
4. The car had a parasitic drain. I didn't know this. I went on a 10 day trip and got back and it wouldn't work. I never left the lights on. Stupid electrical issue.
5. The seats were insanely awful. I dunno if it's because they had ventilation and the prior car didn't. But the foam sucked ass. Literally. Your ass depressed the foam and then started to hurt after 45 minutes of driving. I can drive 8 hours straight with no ass fatigue in the 997 but I couldn't go 1 hour in the Merc without wanting to undo my seat belt and drive off a bridge. The seats in the prior gen car were wonderful.
So basically the car was a huge downgrade from the prior gen one that I had. It literally did nothing better. The engine and transmission were the same, I think. They felt the same. Gas mileage seemed the same.
Given not everyone needs a business-mobile to use when driving to meetings and crap. But if not then why buy this stupid car? If not's not a comfy and practical business mobile then why not buy a sportier car? Or a Merc from the 80s or 90s that's much, much cheaper.
