It's not really that bad, not like what I experienced on the 525i in a vain effort to get those wipers from streaking right in my line of sight.
Here's the issue - my Mazda5 has some really weird wiper sizes, 26" on the left and I think 16" on the right. I bought a left-side Goodyear replacement blade at Costco some time back, but there were a couple of issues. First, it didn't seem to clean any better than the worn-out factory original. Secondly, it was one of those new frameless designs and would twist and clunk with every swipe. Without a rigid frame, it seems that the blade would twist at the end, smacking the hard plastic against the window with a loud thunk. It would clean great on the upstroke, but on its way down would leave a nice streak right in the middle of my field of vision, just like the original, worn out, blade.
Costco being Costco, they took it back after nearly a year, but I didn't see a suitable replacement there. I don't want to pay OEM prices for a replacement blade, and I certainly don't want another of these frameless monstrosities. Does anyone have a recommendation for an affordable (less than $20) blade that will actually work without excess noise?

Buy the OEM blades and just replace the rubber inserts next time
