Hello everyone,
Hey it's my first post here on oppositelock, hell my first ever post on Jalopnik !A bit of background info about me. I'm a 23 years old from Moncton, NB in Canada. As a kid who grew up watching every FF movies, I became an avid tuning enthusiast. I bought my first car at 19 years old, a 1997 Acura EL and I really pimped the shit of it, body kit, spoiler, negative camber setup, exhaust, name it ...I really enjoyed that period, but I feel that time is over. I'm growing up, and so are my tastes in cars.I had the privilege to drive my uncle's Grand Marquis the other day, and I really had an epiphany. For the lack of a better term, let's say that these cars are the tits !I never drove a rear-wheel drive car before, never drove a car with a V8 nor with a proper body-on-frame chassis. Damn that was good, and just like that, I was converted.I tried to explain that on the Honda forum I was on, and much to my surprise, I got insulted, ridiculed and even banned! I realized these guys aren't real gear heads, they're just wannabes and they don't have a clue about what makes a car great. So, I decided to start looking at some other car sites until a whistleblower on a panther forum recommended I came on Jalopnik. I wrote a few posts on the main page under different burners but never got any attention. Came back to whistleblower and he told me to try on the oppositelock forum, so here I'm am.
So, I'm actively seeking to acquire a Panther, preferably a Crown Vic because they are the ones that gets all the police goodies. I already spotted a few candidates on the classified, and this one is topping the list for now. Spoke to the owner and he definitely know his shit, a true car enthusiast, I trust him a lot.
Any advices you guys can provide, any experiences to share, really looking forward to discuss with real car guys !
!!! UNSUPPORTED LINE BREAK IN HEADER !!!
runs great, low kms,has dual exhaust with cherries on it but needs a little exhaust work, inspected …

Hi and welcome to Oppo! I'm fairly new here myself. I'm also looking at Panthers for my next car. Rear wheel drive V8 fun! And they can be found for sooo cheap. I might be getting this baby right here if my insurance settlement comes through soon.

That's a wonderful idea, that would be like crownvic.net but with the wit and knowledge of Jalopnik commenters, I would so be into that, make it happen !

Thats not a good thing... P71's are the second poorest panther you can buy, #1 being a taxi (P70/P72).
Buy a nice LX.

wit and knowledge of Jalopnik commenters
What knowledge?
CVN might be a terrible site but at least all the 10 year old write up's are still full of helpful stuff. All the threads from the good old days are still the go to place for tech write up's.
