SVT Contours, that is. What are the odds of seeing two together in a parking lot?
Both seem modified, and in pretty good shape.

Something about those cars, I just love the looks of them.

The odds are they are probably buddies and travel together to get the same type of reaction you just got. Because really these are rare enough that to see 2 of them side by side completely randomly is almost impossible .

This, the 92-95 SHO, and the RS Cosworth, are all good lookers and performers. Ford had something there with the performance versions of their early 90's pedestrian models.

That's what I figured, but it didn't flow as well, in my opinion.

From my European perspective these look weird. They're clearly slightly redesigned first gen Mondeos, but those fat bumpers and tail lights are weird.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those Mondeo saloons before.

The Mk. I Mondeo and the pre-facelift Contour shared very few external parts (windscreen, front windows, front mirrors, and door handles). The Mk II Mondeo and the facelift Contour share more parts, but they are still very far from identical. It took Ford until the Mk I Focus to finally start to get what the term "world car" meant.

I have always heard these where terrible cars, but I love the looks of them.

And even then, the Mark 1 Focus' dramatically differing reputations from one side of the Atlantic to the other make me question just how similar the European and North American models really were.
