Yesterday, I decided to go to skyline drive today (today , as in tomorrow yesterday). Because of the less-than-ideal weather, I managed to take some cool potato shots when I got there and avoided being stuck behind too much traffic.
Things got a bit too foggy once I reached cloud level, so I turned back. I think an hour of 85+ MPH driving on the way back did some good, because the yet-unnamed C4 was running better than ever (as an It's Always Sunny character, it would be The Waitress). Possibly a video to come of the road, not terribly interesting but shows some nice twisties and fall trees.

That is an odd looking plate.

Yeah, they're antique tags. Cars 25 and older are eligible and don't need yearly emissions tests and don't need to pay yearly registration fees. They are also somewhat more fitting on older cars IMO. It had yellow and blue ones before I owned it, but I didn't care for the color scheme.

Nice, I miss my LT1 :(
No car of my own for now and since I can borrow one pretty much anytime I want, I'm not buying one until a month or or maybe even two... I hate that lol...

SWEET pictures, dude! I spy a Mazda3 photobomb. :)
I have always loved C4s. Something about them is just nifty to me, despite all their supposed shortcomings.

Those plates are heinous. I know Virginia has no sense of style for license plates, but come on.
I thought they were for some Soviet-bloc country at first.
This is what a collector's/antique plate should look like:
You'll note I've left Wisconsin out. That's because our classic plate is terrible too. Red letters on a light blue background, styled kinda like the New Jersey plate.

Haha yes that Mazda 3 is getting some serious blur action there! And thanks, they would certainly be a but better if not taken on an ancient iPhone. The infternet loves to hate C4s, but people were the same way about non '69-'73 C3s in 2000 and it'll be the same way about C5s in a little while. When it comes down to it, they have loads more character than any successor and loads more capability than any predecessor, so they will have their time.

Yeah, I really liked your Corvette. But think of all the JDM possibilities now!

Nice I-Potato pics. Seriously, those are awesome.
What are some key characteristics of your car? Mine was a complete bitch when I bought it, so her name is Christine.

Those are cool, and VA plates suck. But I don't mind these so much, esp. compared to the blue/yellow one...

Thank you! Pics are kinda poor quality, but it's an old phone and they hide all of the problems with the car :P

haha, I might settle for something cheap and fun for now... Despite wanting to go all out on something REALLY nice and fun, I'm here to create my company (ies) and need money (can't really talk about it now, but I'll write something on it when time comes)... I have LOTS of city-ish driving to do, so the Rx-7s and other GT-Rs might be excluded also... So cheap ass 1.8L miata or Cappuccino will probably be the way to go for the next 6 to 8 months... Then I'll see what I'll go for :)

Thanks! It would have been hard to take bad picures there, though. Makes me wish I had a camera and skills, but that takes time and money... That's an awesome name, though! I honestly have no idea how I'm going to name the car, though... It makes some smoke, its clutch is going, and it will try quite hard to lose traction in first gear, but is unsurprising otherwise...

No prob. I wish I had roads like that in Michigan. There isn't anything nearly that cool here.
Thanks! I always get a laugh out of it. I'm really not sure on any names. Do you want the name to be evil, peaceful, or what?

There is no hell for driving like the D.C. metro area, though. Worst traffic in the country? Check. No decent driving for an hour? Check. Ability go to go 90 in an empty 75 like Patrick George and spend time in jail? Check. But luckily there are some nice mountains a couple hours west, so there's consolation. I'm planning on driving some empty roads with higher limits and sharper corners as soon as I can. As far as naming goes, I'd probably do something peaceful... As long as it fits.

Oh, I'll bet. I've only been there once, and I was amazed by how bad the traffic was. Michigan (or, at least where I am) doesn't have bad traffic, but there is just nothing exciting. I have a few fun roads I can go down, but, even then, I can't push any limits, since speed limits aren't too high and I always get stuck behind someone.
Hmm. I don't really know. What about something along the lines of Rachel, or Amanda?

Yeah, most of michigan seems pretty flat, but traffic is a major upside. Those are good names, I'll have to put some consideration into this!

It honestly is. As for the traffic, it kind of ebbs and flows. When I'm cruising around, though, it is never really too bad.
Glad they are decent :D I don't know, maybe look up some top girls names from the 80's or something? That's just about all I can think of.
